I'm not having to many problems so far.

Scriptname SmithBar

begin OnActivate
If (player.GetItemCount "IronOre" >= 5) && (player.GetItemCount "Hammer" >= 1)
 player.removeitem "IronOre" 5
 player.additem "IronBar" 1
endif
end

It requires some changes for sure. But that should work it so far. Then I'll make a similar one for the furnace. It's more for me to get the hang of scripting.

Then you can go and sell it to a custom NPC.

I intend to add other features, but best to start off slow.

You know it might not be too hard to enable players to view the metal bars, when dropped. Didn't Colourwheels make a female bank mod, in which you can view gold bars?

Thanks for the replies guys. It's good to hear others are interested in similar things, and the ideas are pretty cool, ;D. I believe I saw SPS mentioned. Did anyone get that working? I remember a similar mod in Fallout 3, and you start the prostitution thing through a dialogue option... I'm looking for that in SPS, when talking to people of various types... I'm butt naked, or wearing crappy clothes, and still arn't seeing any dialogue from NPC's. Also, while on the subject of prostitution, I have a habit of being demanding and unreasonable in anything I look for, so much that I would like to see whats happening to my character... visually, ;D.

I know it can annoy people, seeing developers go out of their way to create jobs and crap, that make the players feel like their back in reality. At the same time, I feel that in a city environment, or any for that matter, work, slavery, prostitution, etc... it goes a long way towards actually making the game immersive. when you see a bit of realism, even in a fantasy world. In Oblivion, streets seem unpopulated... Life seems to easy going. They tried to show gritty in some form, and showed a despiration for money, only by adding the occassional begger...

I just believe that, on its own isn't acheiving much. Until the player can have the options of normal work, slavery/enslavement, prostitution (as I described), etc - so much that the player feels the need to do that stuff, if they want any kind of money - the game won't be anywhere near as immersive and difficult as it should be. I'm suprised there arn't that many mods that follow up on this. Many folks just seem to add sacks of 250k gold, lol.
