Osfrid
I like the look of the first scale armor you posted if you were able to mix and match with the latest image you provided and layered it over cloth or possible leather it would look pretty sweet I think
trold
I don't know if anyone else in the thread or the OP would agree with this, but it would be nice if the armor is not overly ornate with gold and twiddly bits etc. all over. But rather something that looks practical and worn. Also remember the plates should be overlapping eachother from the top down. Of course your sketch is just an example. Osfrid
I agree no twinkly bits as true to the original character concept the better but I was saying the scale of the lamellar patterns he displayed were the style similar to the concept picture
v3n0m23
Alright guys! Yep i was thinking about layering it over a cloth/leather underneath armor, I'll work something out ps:the "lammellation" is better if obtained through normal map not actual shape xD
v3n0m23
ok this is A SKETCH WITH NO TEXTURES,that's why you see no lammellar stuf that will be done with texture+normal maps, lemme know what you guys think about http://i.imgur.com/bfHHHTM.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/laPoARr.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/2otrymY.jpg
trold
I think that looks great. It's hard to see on the OP's pics, but the leather straps on the shoulderpieces probably go around the arm and are not attached to the cuirass. If they were, they would seriously hinder movement of the arms.Looks like they are attached to the cuirass by two leather straps on top of the shoulders.
