LE lantern grenades and rifles that don't require DLC

I was surprised that no one has made this sort of thing, but I feel like there should be a mod where you can throw miniature versions of the explosive lanterns that the catapults use and that hang from dungeon ceilings.

 

I also can't understand why all of the rifle mods require DLC such as Dawnguard. is there not a way to make one for vanilla? if there is, i'd certainly like to see one.

Various types of grenades are featured in Throwing Weapons - Death From Afar. I haven't used this mod for a while, but the last version I downloaded had grenades that exploded, some that lay down a patch of fire, and some that spill oil pool traps. Search under the same name for multiple releases and versions of this mod that are simpler and don't require SKSE if that's to your liking.

 

Rifles require Dawnguard because they use the same animations as crossbows. Most modders create with maximum potential in mind rather than catering to the very low percentage of players that don't have the earliest addons for a three year old game. If you want guns no matter what, there are a handful of pistol mods with the same animation as staves.

i might sound a bit picky here, but i'd rather have a mod that just adds a grenade like i described. cause it would seem more lore friendly i guess. and i don't absolutely have to have a gun mod. it'd be nice, but bows do just fine too.
