BBcode buttons

On all the websites... tesnexus, fallout3nexus, dragonagenexus... it'd be nice if on the Add File and Add Comment pages if there were clickable buttons for BBcodes. Such as:

[ b ] [ i ] [ u ] [ img ] [ link ] [ color ]

I think it'd make all of our lives much easier.

Agreed. But until that happens, here are some tips based on what I do...noted for all who read this topic:

  1. Create your description BEFORE you begin the upload process.
  2. Creation a new forum topic (but without the intent to ever click the SUBMIT button) and use the built-in tool bar to help design your description with BBCode.
  3. Reference this article about what BBCodes are available to descriptions...such as the descriptions not liking double quote characters surrounding the URL path in the URL BBCode links.
  4. Use the "Preview Post" button to see what your description will look like and keep making changes until you are happy.
  5. Once finished, press CTRL+A and then CTRL+C to copy it into memory and cancel the post.
  6. Paste the text into Notepad and save somewhere safe.
  7. Begin your upload process and paste the BBCode into the description. Should work like a champ every time without the need to re-edit the description to make corrections (due to not having a preview since you previewed it in the forum post!)...assuming you read and understood the article along with the limitations noted in it.

This is a good Playground too. As long if you know the BBCodes.

This one saves you from making any mistakes while doing the above. Meaning accidentally hitting reply instead of preview :whistling:

One note is that it does uses quotation for urls, so it can't be tested for urls...but stuff like youtube is the same again.

Yes but the point of the OP was to use the button bars to avoid typing or knowing the BBCode. ;)

Also, if you do accidentally click submit instead of preview, simply use the REPORT button to have it deleted.
