ptbptb
Conclusions first - RPG-BlackDragons-LowTriPolyGrass, Optimised Distant Land MAX and Reduced Distant Land Textures MAX made the most difference. DeParallaxer mod is a bad idea, because it overwrites a lot of changes made by Oblivion PolyGone Overhaul (can't get the benefit from both :-( What to do next? Any suggestions to improve on this? xxXEvandarXxx
Setting texture size to low and disabling grass would most likely give you a few more FPS

At low you can't even read the store signs. :-( There's a collection of mods that does something similar - it replaces most of the high resolution textures with medium resolution, so you can have just the important textures in high. It's a pity there isn't an equivalent for medium / low.Wiseman's Reduced Textures v11 Part 1Wiseman's Reduced Textures v11 Part 2Wiseman's Reduced Textures v11 Part 3Wiseman's Additional Reduced Textures I'll bear disabling grass in mind as an option. I can't help thinking I should be able to squeeze out an extra FPS or two from somewhere though.
Unavi
Quote At low you can't even read the store signs. :-(that is the reason i keep strugeling with low fps too. well anyway, the only thing i know that could still help you is probably the most drastic of all: using the TBL (or TLB) console command - it changes the lightening so that every thing is lighted in the same way. (like "toggle bright light" in the CS). Sure you will not be able to enjoy the game in the same way but you will have a much higher FPS rate (i had about 30 fps more). Another thing that could help, is reinstalling the latest drivers of your graphics card, but after having the old ones deleted copletly (this worked for me but i cannot be sure it will for you). To get rid of the drivers i used a program called Sweeper if i am correct. I did this a few days ago and now the difference in the number of my fps is massive. Anyway i think that you should try to optimize your whole system rather that just the game.
Vagrant0
Time to get a new videocard. There's really no way around it.

Balakirev
A new video card, and a dual core CPU. You'll see Oblivion fly, and discover the luxury of adding all sorts of high end graphics mods.
