aSMALLslaughterfish
How should I adjust difficulty with FWE? I understand you can adjust difficulty using the FWE options rather than the vanilla game's difficulty settings, but I don't know how I should go about doing that.I started FWE on "very hard" difficulty because I didn't realize it was still set to "very hard." Anyway, I did very well for a while without realizing the difficulty was maxed out, but eventually I had to defeat a group of several raiders and a couple of them had powerful weapons like Lewis Guns, and they killed me three times in a row! So I ended up putting it on "hard" to make it easier. Then I got dragged into Grayditch because I can't bring myself to refuse that kid, even though he's imaginary, and I found that the enemies there died with little difficulty (one or two shots from the hunting rifle.)So I'm wondering if there's a more creative way of adjusting the difficulty with the FWE mod. I want the game to be hard, but I don't want to instantly die every time I am within 50 meters of an enemy with a powerful weapon. What can I do with the FWE options to make the game fit my personal difficulty requirements a little better? I'm also curious if anyone has been able to make the game more of a question of subsistence regarding ammo and food/water. I was hoping that FWE would make the ammo situation more like System Shock 2, where you are overjoyed to find a handful of rounds of good ammunition. And I was hoping that surviving would be harder too (regarding food and water.) What I've found so far, is that ammo is not really an issue and it takes a long time to run out of food and water. It's just a question of how much ammo, food, and water you want to bring with you.Does anyone have any tips for how to make the game more challenging in the way I would like? Thanks! Thanks! when you start a new game and have all the mods installed, sorted, and fixed up the way you like them, delete any saved games you have.run the game, at the startup main menu screen, hit the settings buttons, set the game settings to ultra hard.now, after the game starts up and has settled down a bit, set FWE to max conditions, ultra brutality.you should survive about 30 seconds once out doors. there are other ways to increase difficult too. but this is maxed defaulters .kitty

I actually had the same "problem" with FWE (not a problem really, just what I prefer). The easy fix is to first put the game on FWE default or whatever its called. You should now lower the "global damage" option to 1x or 1.25x (I prefer 1.25x), change the "Weapon Skill" option to setting 2 "Damage AND Accuracy" and lastly increase the "ammo rarity" to "Common Ammo" (since you will now be forced to fire more shots to kill something, however since you found ammo to be in sufficient supply ignore this part). You will now have a more "vanilla" experience, while the game is still overhauled by FWE. Hope it helps. Edited May 28, 2014 by marcurius
