Kasey24
Hey guys, Does a "weakness to poison" spell make all my potions effects stronger? Does "poison" refer to everything that has negative effects on target? Burden, paralysis - you know, all the green bottles in my inventory. alonsomartinez
The poison bottles are potions that were created when you mixed two negative alchemical ingredients. If you click on it it will say " Do you want to poison the tip of your weapon. " It will poison the weapon that you have equipped. You can poison swords or arrow and when you hit a person they will also receive the damage from the poison. If you can make strong poisons you can kill opponents easily and faster. Kasey24
Sorry, let me try again. Does the "weakness to poison" spell enhance any potion (example: burden) that is placed on a blade or arrow, or is it limited to those potions that are specifically labeled poison. Thanks. theuseless
Hey, weakness to poison is one of the most powerful and underlooked abilities in Oblivion. It will work on any bottle that is green. That includes burden, paralyze, damage and other effects. All poisons have a green bottle instead of blue in your items menu. You can make your own poisons if you explore your alchemy skill. Weakness to poison adds a modifyier to the effect. So if the "weakness to poison 10 for 15 secs" is on a blade and you use a poison, it will add another 10% of whatever that effect does for 15 secs. So if you used a "burden 40 for 50 secs" (purely for example) on your blade, it would be burden 44 for the first 15 secs of the poison's duration. Hope that clears it up for you.theuseless

So if I throw a 25% weakness to poison spell, then hit them with a couple of "poisoned" arrows the damage should be more than just the strenght of the potions. I know the game allows many ways to play and I'm always on the lookout for the tricks that others have found that work. Let's make this more devastating; the "Withering Bolt" is an example of "Poison" Magic. Enchant a bow with 100% weakness to Fire if you'll use the enchanted Arrows i'll mention later, 100% weakness to magic (1 second), 100% weakness to Poison (1 second) and the rest of the Grand Soulgem goes to "Damage Health".Then Poison the Bow with a selfmade Potion. Use enchanted daedric Arrows (like Arrows of Inferno) and you will inflict devastating damage. Note: You should always have a "1 second Paralyze" Enchantment in there. The enemy will fall to the Ground and it will take like two Seconds until he's up again. That may be viewed as a cheat, i just wanted to mention it =)

I'll have to file that away for later in the game. I've just started my first game and haven't reached the higher level spells, weopons etc.. I don't use "cheats", but if the game design allows certain devastating combinations of magic/weopons/potions then I think its fair game. (Kinda like Morrowind allowing the stacking of potions to create crazy strength or health potions.) My notes are growing..... I may make it outa here alive yet! 3rdtryguy
The silvery colored "steel blue entoloma" mushrooms, along with a few other not as common ingredients, make a potion that actually bursts into flame. Using that stuff with the bow described above will wreak some real havoc.

I have a couple of open quests to take care of before heading back to IC. What do I need to know in order to create this enchanted bow?
