tehkory
So, let's look at MMM as an example:http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/3211/? I downloaded the three 'main' files to Nexus Mod Manager straight from the website, but upon trying to activate them(first 6.1, then the patch), Nexus Mod Manager acted as if each separate file was mutually exclusive. I could activate 6.1, or the 6.2 patch, but not one, then the other. Each time I downloaded a file and a patch, compatability or otherwise, any files downloaded from a single webpage acted as if they were mutually exclusive. Is this normal and okay? If I install one, do I install them all? It's really confusing, and I'm just not sure if it's how the Mod manager works and/or if I should just try doing without it. I am -bad- at this. I'm no good/clueless, and I'm not blaming the technology or anything. I'm just wondering if I'm 'doing it wrong,' and how I can 'do it right.' I tried reading the stickied topics, but all the pinned things are years old/don't seem to cover the issue I'm having.
Billy1969
Since the vast majority of mods for Fallout 3 were made before the Nexus Mod Manager even existed I would recommend not to use it for this game but instead install the mods either manualy or with FOMM if it's possible, be sure to read the installation instructions in the readme of every mod you want to install. For MMM install the 6.1 first and the RC 6.2 patch on top of it, overwriting files if asked the old school manual way, then activate the mod with FOMM, Wrye Flash or any other mod manager once the esm and esp files show in your load order sorting them if necessary.
