Actually, Ancient Aeon has a point. The reason two cultures far apart could arrive

at the same date is because it's based on the stars. Because the stars are the same

separate cultures would read the stars and then deduce the same time.

 

Didn't I post something to this effect? Or was I dreaming? Dreams? Dreams, vision! Prophecies! Doom I say, Doom!

All it is is stargazing and a prediction for a new era, not the destruction of reality itself! Sorry saw a bit of Dr Who recently.

Didnt nostradamus also predicted a worlds end? You know that guy that *rumor* predicted hitler and 9/11 */rumor*...i would believe his predictions more than the mayans.

The first rapture didn't happen either.

Can't recall news of people dissapearing leaving only their clothes. If there was it was probably Cell from dbz anyway.

 

The key to a good prediction it appears is keeping it vague and open to staggeringly different interpretation. Thats Nostradamus for you.

Nah, i didnt said i believe his predictions, i meant if he REALLY predicted hitler and 9/11, THEN i would believe him more than the mayans...but i guess it never gets proved if his predictions are true...

Well, all of his 'predictions' are vague sort of poems. People read into them what they want, at least, that's what I think.

 

He never mentions Hitler, he does say something about 'Hister' which, though they have no basis to do so other

than the slight similarity, people attribute to being Hitler. However, the phrase 'hister' is also the latin name for

the Danube River.

 

Here's the quatrain:

 

Beasts wild with hunger shall cross the rivers:

Most of the fighting shall be close by the Hister (Danube),

It shall result in the great one being dragged in an iron cage,

While the German shall be watching over the infant Rhine.

 

Nostradamus himself actually says, in his Almanac, that he's referring to the Danube River.

 

And this so called prophecy can be linked to a historical event wherein the King of Hungary (a German)

was defeated by Moors, on the banks of the Danube, who then became King of Germany and his opponent

(the Sultan who had beat him in that battle) was captured and paraded around Asia in an iron cage.

 

So, it's dubious at best. Just because it sounds like Hitler doesn't mean it is.

And about Nostradamus and end of the world, well accordingly with his prediction (and all the 90's Nostradamus books, specials and documentaries ) we should already have the world war III (which supposed to begin between 1993-1998 ) that's supposed to ends in 2027.

and in the 80's we should had faced large worldwide earthquakes , famines and plagues...

Funny that the bound Nostradamus and 2012 is very recent....

For instance in the first Gulf war ,there was lots of researchers and "specialists" about Him, none of them talked about 2012, only about the third anti-Christ and the war that will least until 2027...

 

And about the end of world there's a letter to his son talking about the end of Human race caused by a meteor impact in 3067 (IIRC)

but again in a very vague way.

well, as i already mentioned, it probably has something to do with the stars.

my brothers gf told, the planets should build a row in front of the sun or something like that, but i cant remember well.

but definately something with the planets, which build a row, should destroy the earth then.. :blink:

Of course you can't believe the story, it's simply stupid. I mean, search in google, I bet there's a lot more theories you could believe. Really, one of the easiest way to destroy earth is destroying the moon. (or at least broke it)

I didn't say you did. I have a habit of causing confusion and misunderstanding.

I was just saying peeps can point to nostradamus writings and say he predicted stuff since they are so archaic even for his time, leaves a lot of stuff open to prediction. Your more likely to arrive at a real prediction by staring at animal intestines (actual used method of divination btw).

 

Nostradamus is the ink splodge of predictions in other words.

Even if the world doesnt end, there will still be mass suicides, looting, and many other crimes, up till the point everyone realizes: "oh crap, nothing happened!"
