The Chinese also have a book called the "I Ching" A very old book that also predicts the end of the world on the same date the Mayan calender ended. two seperate cultures far away from each other..and with the same prediction...what do they know we don't?...oh well... who is up for pizza!?

Actually, Ancient Aeon has a point. The reason two cultures far apart could arrive

at the same date is because it's based on the stars. Because the stars are the same

separate cultures would read the stars and then deduce the same time.

 

Although it seems likely they saw a major astrological event and just said, okay

obviously that's when the world will end. I really can't put too much stock

in prophecies of people who sacrificed people for years to make the sun come

up and never once slept in and noticed it happened on it's own...

 

(Mainly, I'm offended that they never slept in. That's just wrong.)

my brothers gf told, the planets should build a row in front of the sun or something like that, but i cant remember well.

but definately something with the planets, which build a row, should destroy the earth then.. :blink:

I's happened in 2005 and guess what there was people who claimed that will be the end of the world, the gravity force would break appart Earth, flood would leveled the cities etc...

But apart an episode of Millennium this prophecy didn't call much attention.

There was an "end of the world" in 1958 and again in 1976. I suvived both.

I´ll probably survive 2012 too, unless my cigarettes kill me.
