On dualwielding a warrior

Hey people :)

I was thinking about making a dualwield warrior, an elf male with dark skin and stark white hair named Drizzt  . Since i want to execute as many special attacks as possible in 1 fight, the best to wear is light armor imho, to surpress fatigue.

Then, about weapons: shall I use sword+dagger at the beginning, and go for dual swords once i fill the dualwield tree? Should I go for dual daggers?

Stats: where to put most of my points in? I was thinking about high dex and stamina, and leave strength as low as needed. I shall fill the entire dualwielding specs, plus some standard warrior stuff (precise striking), combined with the tree that allows me to disengage from an enemy.

Any ideas?

Mechanically speaking, for a dual wielder, it's max damage comes from using two daggers, stacking a lot of static damage bonuses (runes, enchants, berzerk bonus, etc), activating momentum and autoattacking to victory. Also using the two aoes when surrounded, since those are fairly powerful.

Stamina in such a build is largely useless, so points would go into dex & strength (both contribute equally to attack & dagger damage, strength lets you wear heavier armor, dex gives you defense).

Now, that would be what is mechanically superior, on the other hand, this game is easy enough that you can win with almost any build, so if you really want to go for a talent spammer, go for it.

Even for a talent spammer, willpower is again, useless. This is because each point put there adds too little stamina to be worthwhile. Instead, it's better to go with gear that increases stamina & stamina regen.

Talent's speed is independent of your weapon speed and buffs (this, and that talents don't trigger runes/poisons/enchants is why autoattacking ends up being better than talents), to that end, going dual swords (or sword/axe) would be the best option for damage. Which would mean strength should be your main stat to buff damage, with dex only raised to meet talent requirements.

As for armor, you'd want to aim for a set that buffs your stamina & stamina regen, warden commander set from warden's keep dlc is a very solid choice there.

Depends. Dual striking haves a bug that causes 1/2 - 1/3 attacks not to happen (you get animation, but no fwoosh, no hit, no miss, nothing, how frequent it happens seem to vary greatly from pc to pc and from enemy to enemy). In vanilla it ends up giving a slight damage boost as long as you're not geared towards critical hits and are not spamming autocrit talents.

Of course, there's mods that fix the issue and you end up with a tier 1 monster talent that eats a minimal amount of stamina and gives you 200% damage output.
