mitsakos2006
Hello to everyone! I have the following problem...I have installed DAO and patched it to the latest version and it runs perfectlly! No crashes, not anything...BUT when i try to install any mod using the daoupdater or the DAModder the game runs for a while and then crashes to desktop... And it does that with every mod... And then, even if i unstall ste mods it still keeps crashing so i have to reinstall the game... wallbash.gif I know it sounds weird but does anybody knows how to fix that??!(note that installing any mods that aren't dazip, with the copying and pasting in the override folder, doesn't affect the game at all, it keeps running great! The only problem is with the dazip files and the updater witch causes the game to crash...)In desperate need of help!!
blackninja420
I have this similair problem, although my game doesn't CTD, but rather it freezes during any conversation cutscene. I'm still waiting for anyone to reply...doesn't seem to be much help going around these boards...And it is the same for me, that any mods put in through the override folder cause the game to run fine. Don't know what the hell is with the DAzips...
Bridgepiece
hmm, sounds like a mod might have corrupted the original game install :( Im not totally sure but its worth checking into. The game and toolset both are bugged BAD and it seems Bioware cares not to correct them BUT they can however make an expansion :/ Hopefully they will correct these issues soon. mitsakos2006
but it happens with every dazip mod, not only with one... that's why i don't know what to do... and it is a pitty because there are so many cool mods in dazip... :(
TGBlank
Does it crash on the main screen? while playing? which dazip mods are you trying? did you made sure to delete everything on dao's mydocuments and program files folders when you uninstalled/reinstalled to make sure no garbage was left behind?. Does the ctd suddenly just happens with no warning? does the game become slower before it (particularly on area transitions)? does it freeze for a while and THEN ctd?. mitsakos2006
no, nothing... it crashes to desktop without freezing and without giving any errors... Not on the main screen, while playing... That's why i can't figure what's wrong! And yes, when i unistalled it, it was a clean unistall... Everything deleted. I don't know what else to think... TGBlank
From crash-free, .dazip-free game, try the following: 1 Make a backup of your dao folder in mydocuments. Let's call it backup X2 Install a dazip with damodder. Start the game, play till crash.3 Make a second backup of said folder. Let's call it backup Y4 Uninstall the dazip with damodder.5 Try playing again from a savegame that wasn't done with the dazip, see if there's a crash. If there is, jump to a)6 Play from a save that was saved with the dazip activated, see if there's a crash, if there is, jump to b)7 Jump to c) a) Compare backup X with your current folder, particularly the addins.xml and the stuff on the config file. Something changed there that is causing trouble. b) The issue is not config-related, but savegame-related. Somehow your game is screwing saves when saving with a dazip on. c) Problem is related to the addins folder or the addins.xml file, compare backup X with backup Y.
