Hello,

Yesterday I've downloaded Project ENB and I've been starting experiencing black screen issue.

It just happens in the middle of the game.

Everything just freezes and you can see strange vertical lines in black-brown color. I can still hear sound tho' but nothing helps whatever I press. I need to restart computer.

So if anyones knows something about this I would appreciate any help.

P.s. I would take a picture but I can't because the whole computer freezes.

Mostly AA can cause this.

- Updating gpu driver.

- Deactivate AA both in Skyrim ini's and driver could help.

- This could also eventually help: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40706/?

optional:

- Switch to an newer ENB. Use the ENB AA features instead.

Please respond back.

Hey, thanks for responding.

- I have latest AMD drivers. I actually re-install them yesterday.

- My AA is disabled true skyrimprefs.ini (imultisample=0) and in my CCC I have it on application controled.

- I already tried that, but window mode actually gave me more stuttering and some fps drop on certain locations.

- I don't know if it would be good to switch to newer because author of Project ENB says that you should use version 0.221, or perhaps am wrong (which is possible).

0.221 should be new enough (for Project ENB).
Have you ever encountered the black screen without Project ENB or other ENBs?
If not back up Project ENB and try Realvision ENB 0.254 it seems to make a similar graphical experience. Eventually the error is gone.
But I think your graphics card is sometimes overheated or overloaded and then the AMD driver
is crashing or resetting and the black screen occurs that's common. I also have a Radeon but with a big custom

cooler and I never encountered black screens. And I'm using OneTweak for some other reasons.

No, only with ENB's.

I tried Realvision but I had much bigger performance hit.

Mhm interesting. Well I have Radeon R9 270x 2GB from Asus and I monitor my temperature and It doesn't go over 60 degrees. I even tracked vram and MAX is 1.6 gb.

I could try downloading newest drivers (beta), maybe that would help. Oh and also, am using Realistic Lighting overhaul but there is no confirmation that it's compatible with Project ENB. Maybe I should unistall it?

Thanks.

I've tried many ENB presets and Project ENB too. I also using RLO and COT - never encountered a black screen.

But it seems common.

Some suggestions:

1)Open your enblocal.ini and set this

(for 64bit OS)

(VideoMemorySizeMb= RAM + VRAM - 2048 but max is 10240):

[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=false
DisablePreloadToVRAM=false
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=256
VideoMemorySizeMb=
EnableCompression=true
AutodetectVideoMemorySize=true

2) if you altered your skyrim.ini/skyrimprefs.ini back it up and delete it. Start skyrim - the game creates the standart ini's.

3) activate Vsync in skyrimprefs.ini

iPresentInterval=1 [0 could cause random crashes]

4) deactivate background tray tasks like MSI Afterburner, Fraps, mainboard-bundled OC software and the like...

5)catalyst driver: change the textures and mipmap settings to High Quality

6)if your ENB use SweetFx try to disable it and see what happens

Good luck.
