  1. Hi Wiseman303, following this topic since months... This approach should further be followed up. So any chance of a working public version? I would appreciate it and I think many others too.
  2. It isn't. I can confirm iNeed is working flawlessy. Even with my big >200 plugins load. Never had this issue. You can deinstall the mod without problems and reinstall it. ** But you should read the installation instructions carefully. ** RND and IMCN are outdated. Remember, - every time you installing or deinstalling a mod could screw your savegame entirely. - never use a outdated, non supported mod (or you know what you do) - check your loadorder often - use SKSE or SSME and ENB(oost)
  3. contact the LOOT devs and mention it to them. they'll be able to fix it or if it's an actual LOOT issue (as in you're not the only one, essentially) then they will look into fixing it on their end. have fun modding my friend. No, this is not a failure therefore not necessary. Install 'LOOT' in a subfolder of Modorganizer, but different from MO's 'loot' folder. Then you need to setup 'LOOT' in 'MO' as executable file like 'SKSE' or 'TES5Edit' or 'Wrye Bash'. Refer to MO's instructions. Start 'LOOT' from within 'MO'. Or you dowload the 'LOOT.api' and update/overwrite all files in MO's own 'loot' folder. This affects the plugin 'sort' button.
  4. You mean file-validation through steam? And this failed? Are you admin and/or some files are read-only? I thought steam is required to start? You could delete the exe file or some related files and let them install again (steam).
  5. 1. Update MO (you can't update from 1.2.x to 1.3.x, in this case you must install 1.3.x.) *** Backup your MO\dowloads, MO\mods and your MO\preferences folder (your mod lists!) first!! *** Than delete the old MO version. Install the new MO then copy the 3 mentioned folders back. 2. Install LOOT (or download LOOT.api and overwrite/update the files in MO\loot folder, this is for the sort button) https://github.com/loot/loot/releases/tag/v0.7.1 3. MO left side: move all Unofficial patches up like that: Unofficial Skyrim Patch Umanaged: Dawnguard Unofficial Dawnguard Patch Unmanaged: HearthFires Unofficial Hearthfire Patch Unmanaged :Dragonborn Unofficial Dragonborn Patch Organize mods in categories. Fix all mods with the red exclamation mark. ->e. g. install patches if available (patches below the related mod) (Requiem: check this out: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58099/? and this http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58141/?) 4. MO right side: Sort the right side with LOOT (or sort button).
  6. Here is the mod authors site (direct download without steam) "Skyrim Unbound 5.x' http://www.chinagreenelvis.com/gaming/mods/skyrim/skyrim_unbound/ Read the description carefully. You should use 'LOOT' for your plugin load order.
  7. ...or you could simply activate your mods after 'Helgen Keep'. It works in most cases. You may also interested in 'Skyrim Unbound 5.4' a mod similar to 'Alternate Start'. Unfortunately this mod isn't available on Nexus, but on the authors' site: http://www.chinagreenelvis.com/gaming/mods/skyrim/skyrim_unbound/
  8. You should install the 'Unofficial HeathFire Patch.esp' right under 'Hearthfires.esm'. -> http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25127/? I recommend all DLCs = all Unofficial Patches.
  9. In the folder where the ini file is just right click on the file and select Properties. In the Properties window, towards the bottom, you'll see the check box next to Read-only. If checkmarked uncheck the box then click on OK to save the setting. Then you should be able to save the file. If it doesn't work read this http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/
  10. Right click on ini file (= context menu)
  11. Write protected? (windows: ini file > context menu > properties)
  12. Some suggestions: - Brawl Bugs CE.esp after dD-Dragonborn-Dawnguard-EBT-patch.esp -> not sorted by LOOT 0.7.1 right? - MO: are the bsa's in plugin tab activated? (for MO-deactivated plugins) also - ever tried a bashed patch? What solution on 'CTD tendency'? Please post for understanding this 'abnormal' behavior. (remember: loading a previous saved game should have 'it's plugins' installed)
  13. ELFX is only my second choice but you decide. I'm using a ENB also, so it could be different. ENB incorporates ENBoost. I really recommend it.
  14. Yeah, good decision. Other than ELFX or RCN, RLO has more realistic colors and good dynamic shadows and isn't too dark in dungeons. Should work. See my load order above. RLO (Vers.4+) +COT: ------------- RLO = install only interior plugins, avoid weathers COT = install (exterior) plugins, weathers
  15. If there are patches for the DLCs you should use them. Some believe SOS could lead to CTDs. I'm using AOS2 + some other soundmods. To avoid CTDs try LOOT (plugin load order) https://loot.github.io/ For stability I recommend the 'Unofficial Patches' as well. Some other weather mods: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10212/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1875/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8739/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/14086/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20796/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/62925/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52423/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/61080/?
  16. Hi, 50, even 100 or more plugins should good to go, but depends on your system, installed plugins and their load order (LOOT is recommended) and last but not least your Skyrim ini's. Here is a part of my functional plugin load order, weather and lighting related. Most of them are patches or patched versions for COT. You could try it: I've searched on nexus for other weather mods, but in the end I always come back to COT. It's my opinion I know.
  17. @CreeRo 1. You have the RND_USKP-Patch.esp installed, therefore you need the USKP patch (Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp). Can't see it in your list. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19/? You've also installed the RND DLC patches guess you have the 'Skyrim Legendary' or all DLCs so you should install the unofficial DLC patches also. If not remove all DLC patches. 2. 'Realistic Needs and Deseases' ist outdated since 2013. You should go for 'iNeed' (up to date) by Isoku: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51473/? This is recommended by the RND author himself. 3. RND, Frostfall, SkyUI and many other mods do it better with SKSE. Some mods like Frostfall have also more features with SKSE. If you're using the new build of SKSE that has support for changing the memory allocation values, you don't need SSME. Better go for the current build not the beta: http://skse.silverlock.org/ 4. Realistic Lighting is an old Version. You may interested in 'Realistic Lighting Overhaul': http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30450 5. 'SoS - The Wild' is completely outdated and have some issues. Read the sticky posts from the author for compatibility: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/21123 You may take a look in 'Audio Overhaul for Skyrim 2' last updated May, 29!: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/43773 5. Like RevolverCC said: you should install LOOT for the plugin load order: https://loot.github.io/ 6. - Keep your mods always updated and patches also. This could be annoying I know  - Do not install old or unsupported mods. Search for similar newer ones instead. - Refer to the authors notes for de- or installing a mod. - Massive updating or deinstalling of mods could eventually damage savegames. Sometimes it's better to start Skyrim with new mods again.
  18. DDS file compression and more I've had the same MCM related problems with compressed DDS files through the GIMP plugin and yes, there are working alternatives to get the compressed file to work: 1. Compressed DDS e.g. DXT5: GIMP plugin works in most cases if width=height e.g. 512x512 (but doesn't look good in MCM) 2. Download 'The Compressionator' a pro developer freeware tool made by AMD. Its by far the best GUI-tool out there: http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/archive/legacy-cpu-gpu-tools/the-compressonator/ Compressed (e.g. DXT5) DDS files worked with MCM instantly! 3. If you want to have a fast look in your DDS files get this free great ultra fast DDS viewer : http://amnoid.de/ddsview/index.html 4. Get 'SageThumbs' a free powerful windows shell extension allowing to preview DDS and tons of other image files in your Win folder: http://sourceforge.net/projects/sagethumbs/ May you do well!
  19. You may try some ENB mods here on nexus. Please read the install descriptions carefully. And you should use the newest ENB version. If you only want the boost feature disable the following in enbseries.ini: [GLOBAL] UseEffect=true change true to false and save the file. You should also read the pinned troubleshooting/FAQ and search for ENB settings, here: http://http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1950964-troubleshootingfaq/
  20. If you use the USKP you should use the DLC patches as well. LOOT 0.6.x is recommended. LOOT 0.7 is in alpha state, don't know how good it works.
  21. Can't see an attached mod list. You can use the Special BBCode: spoiler to post your list. Can you describe the 'freeze' or it's a ctd (crash to desktop). Remember the number of mods plugins Skyrim can handle is <= 255.
  22. - use the FOMOD installer (CBBE 3.3) to choose your options like 'nevernude' - if you manually extract or copy mod folders to MO 'mod' folder the 'data' folder is not recommended, begin with the subfolder like 'textures/clothes'... - Lock Overhaul: you must install SKSE and SKYUI first - you could post your modorder (MO left side window) to see what's going on
  23. Install FNIS and its addins with MO like a mod. Move FNIS and its addins to the last in mod order (left window in MO). Then create a start link in MO and run FNIS. That's not the common way but it works. Check your overwrite folder and clear old entries. You can/should also install MO (it's complete folder) in Sykrim main folder (not Data folder) to avoid conflicts. More here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2112139-help-please-fnis-run-in-mo-always-missing-hkx-files-now/
  24. Hm, it's rather easy to understand MO's functionality. If you have some animation mods (hkx files) move these mods down to avoid to be overwritten (left side). Use LOOT if you have problems with plugins (right side), but that's surely not the point here. All unpacked mods within MO are stored in the MO 'mod' folder. They're 'virtually linked/moved' to the Skyrim\Data folder not the Skyrim folder itself. So first make sure that the hkx files can found properly by MO (set the right folder). You can also install FNIS like an mod in MO if you want (move down to the bottom). Then if you setup FNIS proper to start from within MO it should cause no problems. FNISmodlist and other config files are stored in the MO overwrite folder. And yes, it's better to install MO (in its folder) to the Skyrim folder to avoid some confusions.
  25. Please post your current LOOT load order/crashlog here (use the spoiler tag function Special BBCode).
