Actually, I was thinking of having a pool of lava down there.

The idea being that when you REALLY ticked them off they'd lower you into it and send you to... well, somewhere bad.

But, we could have a such an element.

Something like "Those who refuse to recant their evil ways and serve the Penitence in the mines,

will have their malevolence and violence turned into weapons of righteousness, and their penance

will be to feed these weapons with their souls forever... etc."

Perhaps you should right a bit of propaganda for Aetherius, a holy book that

foretells the fate of those who are unfortunate enough to attract their wrath.

We could hide clues in it about cool stuff we put in Aetherius.

The weapons you could get down there would

probably misbehave in some manner, as well.

Scripted effects?

Also, the lava pool could be used like a Varla Stone to recharge

all your magical weapons (as basically it's a molten soul-gem).

I had an idea to make the Mines look a little like Dante's Inferno, as

there being levels according to the offense, with different methods of

paying penance.

L33's got me testing his awesome scythe, and that gave me the idea.

Do you like the idea, Kieran, or would you prefer a less elaborate form?

Personally, I love the idea! Dante was awesome.

Yeah, I'm a geek; I read it.

He made a scythe?

Yes, I also actually read the book (didn't understand a word, but I read the explanations too)

as well. That gives us many unique things we can do. Some interesting inhabitants, as well.

Any people who are dead, from other Elder Scrolls games, or from quests, who we might want to put down there?

Yes, L33 made an awesome scythe. I know he's uploaded a picture somewhere, but I can't find the post.

That sounds awesome like a pit of the punished

Dante's Scythe:

If any of you have an Xbox 360, a Dante's Inferno game is coming out for it on the 12th of Feb, i played the demo and I'm DEFINITELY getting the game, it's also what inspired me to make the scythe which Zprospero i have sized it so it's like the Tdas scythes hopefull you can test the better placed version and show me how it is :D

WAIT KIERANS LAST COMMENT???

you never knew i made a scythe? how not! I've thrown this baby around everywhere :P

OH and yeah i got some ideas for some of the punished...

1.) Dagoth Ur - Wasn't a daedric prince so when he's dead he's dead therefore meaning he can be punished (Maybe some of the other Dagoths in a skeleton form)

2.)Severa Magia- The Morrowind leader of the dark brotherhood

3.) Haha, some of your other BlackAdder family members XD it's there doings that have got you into this mess :P

Well, I don't think Dagoth Ur would really be on the Nine's radar, as it were. I believe

he was more Azura's concern. The Nine seem to care more for Imperials, as Azura did

the Dunmer. Also, his mind was warped by the Heart, he wasn't so much a villain as a

victim of it's powers, so eternal punishment seems a little harsh. He kind of reminds

me more of Gollum from LOTR. (

Particularly how they both fall into a Volcano

)

I barely remember Severa Magia, but I think when the Brotherhood members

die it's implied they become part of Sithis. (

Or become ghosts like the Night Mother

)

And the Blackadder family members are about to be sentenced

to go down there, so they can't be down there yet.

Good ideas, but they don't quite work according to lore.

I've got a few references to the book in there now, a non-hostile minotaur named Minos

who has a little desk and papers (as Minos, in the Inferno, decides what level people get

sentenced to (He actually was a minotaur in the book, I believe).

And a small river with a bridge keeper who asks a toll called Charon (Couldn't figure out how to make a ferry sadly).

Should be a fun to look around. Which is a very odd thing to say about such a place...
