Monolithic0117
As some of you may know, a new iteration of the DS, the DSi XL (called the DSi LL in Japan), was announced at the end of October 2009, and was released in Japan at the end of November 2009.It will be released in Europe on March 5, and in North America in the first quarter of 2010. The DSi XL is basically a larger version of the DSi, with larger screens. One of it's functions is to appeal to the older demographic, and those with poor eyesight. It can also supposedly be utilized/enjoyed by multiple persons, by "gathering" around the user. I find that a bit of a stretch myself, but I digress. The XL also has improved battery life over the DSi, and also comes with longer, bulkier styli, which I assume is a continuation of the effort to appeal to their designated audience. The XL comes in three colors: natural white, wine red and dark brown. I find these colors to be quite mellow, myself, which was most likely intended by Nintendo. It is more expensive than the DSi, slightly above 200$.The XL also comes with several DSiWare titles and a dictionary program. So, what are your thoughts about this new model? Will you purchase it? I myself am debating whether or not to get it. The idea of a larger DS is, strangely, very appealing to me. The price is not much of a problem. The larger size is not so drastic as to reduce the portability, and the larger screens have their uses. Although apart from the increased size, there is not much else. I also already own a DSi, so there is the matter of that as well.
Pushkatu
I was never a fan of these "pipboy machines". I just don't feel like playing on one of them.

It's actually quite enjoyable, many great games are on the handhelds. Also very useful for those who travel often.
MonsterHunterMaster
I personaly dont like that they release a new nintendo handheld every half year...its the same as sonys Psp.First the fat, then slim and light, then Psp 3000 and then Psp Go!. Same with nintendo: nintendo ds, nintendo ds lite, nintendo dsi and now a fat nintendo dsi? Why dont they make one good handheld instead of four bad ones? But to answer Your question: i wont buy it cuz i dont know any of the ds games except the mario series...another reason is the high price. I will not spend so much money, cuz i bet they will release another nintendo ds version this year... i stay with my computer cuz sometimes i get cheaper (and much better) games for computer than for a ds. PhoenixGryphon
I picked this up strictly because I am an older gamer and don't always like to wear my glasses just to have a game break. LOL. The whole 3D thing though, nah, I'll pass there. Now my daughter keeps trying to steal my XL even though she has two DS's of her own.
