Roughnecks2277
So i realized i needed a better, newer graphics card, and when i put in Fallout 3, it said i needed a Redeon 8500 card or better, but at best buy all I could find was a Redeon 4850 card, will that be enough to support the game or is it too low? Will the graphics be good or crappy with the 4850? Please help! :thanks:

mechine
Yeah you need to find out some things. Like for one what kind of mother board it is. Does it have PCI or PCI-E. After that if I were going to spend the money. I'd spend it at www.newegg.com or some other online computer store. Those places have open box stuff for cheap, but the main point is that you can get the real stuff. Best buy just has that everyday retail stuff that got kicked out of the back of a truck. Fallout 3 was designed to run at max settings on 8000 series Nvida cards, so just find out what the ATI version of that is. I run a old P4 550 HT CPU, Asus P5N-D, SLI 8800GT's, old raptor, old audigy A2S. Idk maybe $3000-$4000 I built up over the last 6 years. I can run it on max, but it's so overkill with the distances an detail. You can turn it down to half an not even notice. You'll want to read the tweek guide http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_1.html You might want to go with 1/4 settings which is still more than anybody needs. There's plenty of performance you can get out of it from the settings. Read the pinned topics too here at nexus.
