Guest deleted726673
So yesterday I noticed a part of my mod's description was gone.It was removed by someone without letting me know about it.In my opinion it's kinda rude to just change stuff in someone's description without letting him know.So I suggest to whoever did this to next time let the author know what's wrong with the description so the author him/her self can change it. The part that was removed contained some direct links to endorse and vote for file of the month.Apparently it's not allowed to do that. And no I didn't bribe or threat anyone. Before I added those links I looked at the "terms of service" nothing mentioned about it in there, so I thought it was okay to do it.Yesterday I found out there was a topic about this subject, which explained that it's not allowed. I apologize for adding those links, it won't happen again. I just didn't know it wasn't allowed. I think it would be better to add the rules about this to the terms of service, so more people would see it and it would happen less times.Or at least make the thread a sticky one so it won't get buried and no one will see it. The reason I put those links there is simply because the vote button doesn't really stand out much, I didn't even know how to vote a file for "File of the month" until a few months ago.My suggestion would be to add a vote counter next to the endorsements one so more people will notice it. Also remove the vote button from "options", I think it's kinda out of place there. Here's a picture of what I mean: http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww179/Xeniuss/Misc/Suggestion.jpg As the title says there also is a problem, concerning file management. I have a bunch of old files that need to be removed because I made a compilation of updated versions of those files. However, when I want to remove any of these files I get the "IPS driver Error.I remember there was a similar issue before with Tesnexus, when you got the same error a lot of times at any part of the website. But now it's only when I want to remove those files. When I go back to my file managing page after trying to remove one file, it says the file has no comments, not "0 comments" like when there are no comments yet but just "comments". This is the only thing that changes, everything including the comments is still available.
LHammonds
I did not edit your description but you can read all about this here: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=124689
Guest deleted726673
As I said, I already found & read that thread after the description was changed. Thanks anyway for replying.
LHammonds
The rules are supposed to be a general guideline rather than a War and Peace-sized book that goes into all the possible do's and don'ts. Whoever edited your description should have contacted you so that you would know not to do that again. We don't typically do that sort of thing. As for the files you want deleted, give me some links and I will see what I can do. LHammonds
Guest deleted726673
Well, I agree about the big book of rules thing, it's not like I read the rules before I do anything on the Nexus websites, just when I wanted to add those links. The following files need to be removed: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28930http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27174http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25814http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25206http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25862http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27904http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26097
LHammonds
The problem is with the comments on each one of them. The mod page cannot be deleted with any comments attached. Somehow, there is a comment thread for each of them but somehow it is disabled where new comments cannot be added. I also cannot "find" the thread in the forum because the "go to forum" link does not work. I can however click the comments tab, then delete an individual comment which then gives me an IPS error and I have to re-load the page, click the comments tab again and delete another. This will prove to be a time-consuming task for some of these mods. ;) LHammonds EDIT: Done deleting all pages.

buddah
Funny I sent you a pm when I deleted the links, and another when you reported your own file asking what had happened. Did you not receive them?
Guest deleted726673
The first message I did not receive. I did receive the second one which contained the link to the thread with the rules about the vote links.I made this thread because not everything mentioned in the report was answered and I had some other things to say too.But at least I now know you wanted to let me know about the removed links, so I guess that's good enough. Also I forgot something about the files of month. It is not required to download a file to be able to vote it for file of the month. This is kinda weird, because an endorsements requires a download. A vote for file of the month should be superior to a regular endorsement. But this way a file can have more votes for file of the month than endorsements. I tested this with another account to make sure I didn't have downloaded the file and no I did not vote my own file.
buddah
Perhaps the pm got lost in the forum move.....but I am quite certain I tried to let you know. I do know that some issues have arisen since the forum server move and have PM'ed Dark0ne about them for him to look into. The voting issue I was unaware of, and tried it myself to be sure. Whether that was designed that way or an oversight is a question that only Dark0ne can answer. So I will have to differ to him on that. Dark0ne is in the process of recoding the entire family of sites presently and anticipates completing that about the end of February, which he put in site news here: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=177200 As for the suggestions you mentioned, could you post those a new thread in this subforum so Dark0ne can see them. The sites file admin area is left pretty much up to the staff to take care of and he may have missed the suggestion. Thanks for understanding and your patience.
