download content does not apper in game

Recommended Posts

i downloaded some extra content with a key i got at my copy of dao and i already downloaded it, but it only appears in the game when i start a new game...

I played with a character before and then i downloaded the content and activated it to be in the game, but nothing appears in my saved game..

The only way to come to the downloaded content is to start a new game (for example i downloaded the blood-dragon armor and nothing appeared in the inventory of my saved character. After i started a new game, the armor appeared in the new game inventory)...

Is there any way to get those contents without starting a new game?

Depends on the downloadable content, and depends on the mods. For dlc, big ones like warden's keep or stone prisoner work when activated after starting, smaller ones, well, you'd either have to restart, or complete the game and then restart.

As for mods, read the mod descriptions ^^'.

So far as I know, Wardens Keep, Stone Prisoner are stand alone add ons that can be installed at any point in the game.

Return to Ostagar is also an add-on that can be installed at any time.

As for the BD Armor, it is restricted to the actual game purchase, and is NOT an add-on mod. From what I understand, If you install DAO and start a character and save data before you have redeemed your code and downloaded your content and installed it, then that particular character will not have the FIRST piece of the 4 piece set, but the others will be available at the appropriate location in game at the appropriate time.

Can't figure out for the life of me as to why BioWare did this. Someone must have thought it was funny or cute. Makes no sense. I mean, come on. Who starts a new game with 38 Strength anyway! What's the point in that useless hunk of metal taking up a valuable inventory slot.
