Commando1701
Hi everyone. I use OBMM. I recently reinstalled oblivion and added a heap of new mods all at once so I haven't had a chance to go and examine every mod of mine. There is something that I've noticed that's a real immersion breaker for me, and I wanted to mention it to see if it's just because of a mod, or if it's because a mod is not working, or if this is just vanilla oblivion. Okay, here goes. At the fighting chance (and almost all NPC's in the Imperial City) look like they're old men/women but have the voices of 20 -30 year old people. I had installed the mod: younger hotter npc's in order to counteract this, but I've noticed no visible change to the characters. (All I did was install it by adding the archive and activating it). So am I not doing something important, or is this just my own imagination and that's the way it should be? Please help, I'm getting turned off from playing because everyone looks so ugly while I'm so beautiful (My ingame character I meant lol.).
bben46
It could be caused by something in your load order overwriting your younger hotter npc's. Let's hope you get lucky then after installing a heap of mods at once. Highly not recommended. Anyway, to quote you: (All I did was install it by adding the archive and activating it). You have to extract the esp, add it to the data folder and activate it. I assume this is what you meant. However, if you have any cosmetic, race or other mods that alter NPC's, the Younger Hotter NPC's esp needs to be loaded after them for the changes to be implemented. Commando1701
You have to extract the esp, add it to the data folder and activate it. I assume this is what you meant. However, if you have any cosmetic, race or other mods that alter NPC's, the Younger Hotter NPC's esp needs to be loaded after them for the changes to be implemented. I added the mod by opening up obmm, clicking create, then add archive, and then added the file 'younger hotter npcs'. Then I activated it after obmm decomressed it. Isn't that supposed to be how its done? I will post the load order after I go home today.

Maigrets
OK. Younger Hotter NPC's should work correctly if you place it last after all of the others. If you add more mods that change default NPC's at all you'll have to move it below them again for the changes to apply. Since you have OOO and COBL you really should be using a Bashed Patch. It will also be of great use if you start using race mods and many others.Wrye Bash - This is a tool, not a mod and needs to be installed differently. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 Check in the description for what a Bashed Patch does including merging leveled lists, graphics, races, and tweaking a lot of things so multiple mods work better together. I added the mod by opening up obmm, clicking create, then add archive, and then added the file 'younger hotter npcs'. Then I activated it after obmm decomressed it. Isn't that supposed to be how its done? You didn't say you made an omod of Younger Hotter NPC's, just that you use OBMM which has many other uses, including adjusting load order. Younger Hotter NPC's is just an esp, so making an omod of it doesn't have much benefit, but many people prefer to omod everything, whether it's necessary or not. Self made omods aren't always problem free. Where there are multiple files and folders and the author hasn't provided conversion data you could sometimes have issues. If you disable an omod that has files used by another mod and then disable it, the files used by the other mod will be deleted as well if the folder structure is the same. Of course you can reinstall the other mod, but if you don't know which files were removed it could potentially be annoying to fix. Everyone should know how to manually install mods, despite the fact many will say otherwise. You get a better understanding of what the mod contains and very often how to fix or avoid errors before they happen. I only use omods that are already supplied that way and if it's the only download option, or if they have the conversion scripts already in the archive. Depending on the mod, I often extract it to it's original archive so I can see exactly what files I'm adding to my game and more importantly, which to remove successfully if problems occur. I'm very picky about what goes into my game and I always install manually except for the major overhauls and others like Qarl's Textures and the like. The point of what I've just said is since you added a heap of mods straight away without testing them, this one might be the first in a list of problems. Younger Hotter NPC's is usually simply fixed by moving it in your load list. Others may not be that easy, but if you've read all the info texts etc you may just be lucky. At least with OOO you can see at the very beginning in the prison cell if it's working and new meshes and textures are in the correct places.
