vaguseques
Hey all, I just thought I'd give OOO a whirl after getting a little tired of the balancing in Oblivion. By and large things seem to be working fine, but one major gripe I ran into was that the majority of my potion icons were missing from my inventory. Also, right as I'm starting a new game and the guards come through my cell, Captain Renault appears as a floating head and katana. The other prison guards are fully visible, though. Does anyone know which meshes/textures she uses? My instinct was to create a blades/f folder, but I have a female character whose Blades armor works fine, so evidently that's not it. I manually moved the mod files into my data folder and I've read up about proper load order, so I'm pretty sure I'm doing that all correctly. I'm using version 1.32 of OOO at the moment and patch 1.2 of Oblivion. I don't have any other major overhaul-type mods, and everything was working relatively well until I put OOO into place. Any nudges in the right direction would be awesome.
DavidBudreck
Captain Renault's armor is in \meshes\armor\javbsb However, I recommend that you ditch 1.32 of OOO and redownload 1.33. There are LOTS of changes, and overall is much more stable and clean, with some bug and quest fixes.
vaguseques
Thanks! I didn't realize there was a 1.33. Downloaded the complete version of that, manually input the files in their place, and now all my potions are showing up fine. I also took a look at javbsb. Somehow it looks like it was renamed to javbs? So I just renamed that. Unfortunately, didn't fix Renault's issue. I'm also getting occasional (though infrequent) exclamation points and yellow blocks in the intro dungeon. Looks like a certain torch-affixed-to-wall mesh/texture (shows up in shops and at gates in Imperial City) and a certain smashed crate mesh/texture (in the intro dungeon, in the "pit with pillars and rat and shield" for lack of a proper name). At least I feel like I'm on the right track now that I've got 1.33. I'll keep fiddling with it and see if I can't get everything working. Thanks again! DavidBudreck
Oops, the extra "b" was a typo, my apologies. \armor\javbs Not \armor\javbsb By far the easiest way to do this is to make a backup of your data folder. Then just copy/past the meshes and textures folders from OOO on top of your data folder. Windows will warn you that these folders already exist. Say "Yes to All". With modern Windows systems, this will merge the folders, not overwrite them. It will overwrite files that are the same on XP, but Vista is even niftier, and will specifically ask you file by file if you want to overwrite. This is the best thing about Vista. By doing this, you won't miss anything, and there will not be any typos in folder names.
