Simon2985
Hello, There is a spoiler here for anyone who has not completed Shivering Isles, just warning before I begin. I have just obtained Sheogorath's palace. I thought I would have a go at changing the inside a bit, make it differ from what it was so it looked like it had a new owner. I am very new to modding so I thought this would be a fun thing to try and do. Anyway, what I am doing at the moment is messing around with the items that you find on the pedestals around the room. I am deleting the items that are currently there (in the render window) and dragging in new items from the object window. I am saving my changes in an already setup esp file that I created and saved before changing anything, or loading up the master file. My created esp is also set to active file. The problem is that whatever I do in the construction set does not carry over to the game. The palace is still as it was. I am using the "Sheogorath's Palace" interior cell to edit with. Is that the cell I should be using, or is there another cell for when I have obtained the palace? Many thanks,Simon. :thanks:
DavidBudreck
The first thing to do is check that both your game and the CS are patched to the latest version. Lots of people have trouble with things not showing up because of mismatch versions.
Simon2985
Hello, Both Oblivion and the Construction set are up to date, versions are; Oblivion: 1.2.0.416Construction Set: 1.2.404 I have tried changing things around in other areas (House of Mania and Castile Anvil) and those changes seem to stick (having swapped out objects the same way as before), it is just the palace's main room where nothing happens. Many thanks,Simon.
David Brasher
I guess this is not an issue of the changes not showing up right because you have already been in the cell recently? The solution to that would be to back up to a savegame before you entered the cell, but if you are modding a cell you spend a great deal of time in during the game, that would be hard to do. What you might try is sending another character there for the very first time. A character who has never seen that cell before. The cell is a complex one. One with two states. The ordinary state and the order-infested state. I don't really understand how the daisy chain set-up works, but the Obelisk Crystals seem to be enabled by the X-marker SE12OrderedFont. There must be a script somewhere which acts on this X-marker. It is possible that some script is resetting this room to the non-ordered state at your point of the game. Although that last idea does not seem to ring true, because I have stored weapons and personal gear in the throne room. Have you checked into load order? Your mod would need to come after DLCShiveringIsles.
Simon2985
Hello David, Thank you for your reply. My game is currently saved in the palace court yard, just outside the main throne room. I try chaning something in the throne room, load up my save and enter the room to find that nothing has changed. So I have been in the cell recently prior to editing it. I will try saving in a different part of the shivering isles map, editing something in the throne room and loading back up to see if anything happens. I think the problem I have may be because the throne room changes ownership when you complete all the quests in the expansion. So Sheogorath is not there when I load up the game, I do not know if that is causing anything, the game would have to alter the throne room cell to remove Sheogoraths model I presume (I do not know how the game loads the environment) so that could be resetting any changes I have made in the construction set. I have changed the load order in the Oblivion Mod Manager so that Oblivion.esm is at the top, DLCShiveringIsles.esp is second and my mod is at the bottom of the list. However this does not change the order if I look in the data files option from the launch menu, so I don't know if I have done everything correctly. I have yet to try running the game with a new load order. Many thanks,Simon.
