mileafly Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 I read somewhere that you could change the ini to adjust it to how many cores your processor have to get better performance. I have 8 cores, do anyone know what lines I should add or modify?
camaro_69_327 Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 You should not need to do a thing.....With Default , Fresh , new ini files Skyrim uses all 8 threads of my 4 CORE CPU. Start , Task manager. Start the Game, play for a few mins...exit and look at the graph you will see that Skyrim uses all threads/cores...IF NOT....keep reading... Make sure Task manager is set to show you separate graphs for all your cores. Top header>[View] > CPU history > one graph per CPU. Click the "[Resource Monitor]" go to the CPU tab. Look at the graph, IF it says "PARKED" next to all CPU threads but one, you need to UNpark your cores. Google how to UNpark your cores. I saw an improvement doing it. Some stats (all benchmark runs Identical) Benchmark is Beginning Wagon ride Skyrim:Core parked , CPU 59.99 C. .....FPS 93.95Core UNparked = CPU 63.06 ...FPS 98.57 Not a major change but obviously different , Cpu is warmer and Average FPS is is a bit higher. all stats are an average from the 4 Min Ride.
