Andriejj
I'm stuck in Rivet City. If I try exit to the Capital Wasteland, through whichever door, I get a CTD. What's worse, all the previous save games with that character work the same (and I did go outside between them)! How come they all got corrupted? I reinstalled the game, cleared the registry, but it's still the same. What can I do? Is there any mod or a console command for teleporting, moving around the world map? Maybe that would help, trying to exit to the Wasteland from some other location. As for info, it's Fallout GOTY edition + the Unofficial F3 Patch, some textures and meshes and the Lucy West companion mod. Thanks in advance for any help given. EDIT: Nevermind. I followed the advice to save, blow myself up, turn off the game and try exiting again, which, surprisingly, worked. Though at first fast travel crashed the poo again, but after running around and entering/exiting places for some time, it's working well now. gsmanners
This is a well-known bug in UF3P, and will cause problems in the Jeff. Memorial area as well. See: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...owtopic=1043778specifically: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...&p=15137159and the attached fix: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?z3qmlzyzomy
Suilebhain
Try this - it works for me. Aim a Fat Man at your feet and pull the trigger. No fooling. You die, all at once, and thee game reloads. Save, load the new save, and play. It seems to clear out some sort of cache that makes the save really big, and remember that when you leave a city or use fast travel you auto-save. mechine
love that one... I use Groovatron to do the same thing. You can place a X marker anywhere then via a FOSE script, press X to place, then press X to transport to the all black room then ~PCB (purge cell buffer) hit X transport to the all white room, spin the camera around, (so that normal maps will be loaded when you transport back into the wasteland) hit X transport to the wasteland. Which really you can do the same thing if you have a door to a cell nearby, go in ~PCB then exit to force a reload of the wasteland. However when you are roaming around the wasteland there is times where there isn't a door. So the only way to purge the cell buffer safely became the teleport tool built into groovatron. which made exploring the vastness of the wasteland have better performance when moving across many cells. Each cell of the wasteland is about 192 ft by 192 ft with maybe 1500 or more being used. After fixing everything with FO3edit the only crashes I run into are mosty caused from excessive data in the cell buffer. So it's good to avoid most of that, but mostly it's the better performance I get while running around. Then like you said on the mini nuke forced reload. For some reason the second load of a save game always runs smoother/faster. I use this to play music with secondary programs running in the background. Load a save game, fast travel, spin the camera an then load the save game again. But the mini nuke way sound like more fun :/
