DDProductions83 Posted June 14, 2014 Share Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) Alpha Trailer 7/26/14, Alpha release 9/15/14 Well about time I actually saw this post area :tongue: I am currently working on a large scale mod with a new landmass dungeons characters etc in the theme of Sir Terry Pratchetts Discworld series. He knows about it and I try to keep him updates on how bad I'm butchering his stories etc lol Latest trailer Also I tend to post random videos as I do things up on the youtube pagehttps://www.youtube.com/DDproductions83 So far I have 11 quests fully working and about 90% voiced overall What we are aiming for is a mod that feels in the spirit of Discworld with the player taking a quest to be security on a ship that gets shipwrecked and leaves them stranded on the Discworld island. Everything is a bit off tilt as it were.Some examples of the quests in already -No Good Deed-A quest to help a young lady retrieve her amulet from thieves that goes horribly wrong as she is possessed by the small god of mudcrabs and tries to take over the world with her minor mudcrab army. Upon stopping the mudcrabs the gods hold on her is weakened but before she leaves she sunders the womans soul and you have to go collect them after some help from a drunkish wizard and return them to her. The quest title kind of ruins what happens at the end but meh -Lend every man thine voice but few thine ear-You help a crazy little girl named Daisy harvest organs of dead bards who come to life and sing horrible versions of the skyrim bard songs that drain your life until they are killed. (I hate bards)Have a video of that one on the page but it contains copywrited music so don't think I can link here The main quests will proceed mostly to main Discworld characters and themes but only introduce you to the chains, not hold you to finishing them in case people don't like certain characters storyarcs etc. So far MQ are "The Finer Things In Life" With Cohen the barbarian, "Going Postal" With Angua and Moist Von Lipwig, and "Snuff" with Sam Vimes. The Snuff Watchmen questline is the only one we have chaining at the moment with it going 5 quests after and I am already working on the scripts for the last few I think I will do in that chain with The Fifth Elephant leading the player to the dwarf underground volcano city the werewolf village and the vampire underground fort The sidequests keep pouring in as we get crazy ideas and dungeons and basically go looney through lack of sleep.In the worksA Hamlet style quest with werewolfsA quest with cannibal goat worshiping cultists A quest with a man who wants to bring his draugr love back to life (It involves Daisy as well)A quest with a dwemer automaton who sends you to retrieve her power source from a village of psycho dwemer automatons (Using assets from VIcn Creature Resources) and she becomes a companion at the end I am gearing up for a Alpha release which will probably wait till the goat cultist and hamlet quest are finalized and all the voices are in. Right now I lack in the Modeling department. I have almost 0 skill with making models that don't involve primitive shapes. Our 'goblins' are just 7/10 sized orcs atm for placeholders until or if I even get someone who can make a unique race for them.I have a few people that have granted use of their custom dungeons and one person that is constantly making amazing dungeon designs. I have a slew of voice actors on board as well. Also 2 french composers are about to start working full time on the music for the mod. But that is it, me working fulltime on this and one japanese kid who throws me dungeons every so often and 2 composers :tongue: Figured I might as well post up in here now that I know about it and even if it is just granting the use of assets you have done, anything would be a help to make this more unique and insane in any way possible :smile: Also we are changing the way people play and experience storys. An example is taking control of other characters to play out other plots that happened during a quest. Or the player actually locks themselves in a room and then they control Cohen as he has to find a way to get them out and he bitches about them while he does it.Another example is our "Reality Re-alignment" spell, where I have already placed trig boxes with magic markers all over and once you acquire the spell and use it at a marker soemthing akin to this can happen But it is just a trig box with a variable detector and the spell changes the GV for 2 sec and if player is in the box and GV is at 1 we can make whatever we want happen.Mostly it leads to loot piles or unique boss encounters or alternate ways to get through something. We also are working on a possession spell, with a guided projectile that when you ram it into someone you control them for as long as your mana holds or a predetermined length (Haven't decided) Could use some help on that as we have got it working but it has a few kinks This allows us to create scenarios farther in that can be approached in multiple waysm such as a fort underground with a moat that is impassable. Do you A: possess someone on the other side and open the gate or B: find a magic marker and use the reality spell to create a rock bridge across the back and sneak in. I am hoping to not only make it unique, but make it fun as all hell as well. The arena is already crazy with each fight being themed (20 planned 5 in already) and the arena inside gets changed per fight. So far the fights wrap up with the Princess bride themed one with Thaumatergist Maxwell and the Dread Knight Roberts. Predictable things happen like ROUS's and Roberts coming back to life if Maxwell isn't killed. We also have unique arena shoutcasters, although they sometimes leave mid fight. We have a frost troll arena where the whole arenas froze and the shoutcasters just leave to get hot beverages and come back after you win. Well TL:DRFUN MOD RAAWWRRRRNobby and Colon are so far my fav..Like this video, where you help them on a quest to find a sweetroll bandit that leads to a conspiracy of epic proportions! This was also the hardest quest as I tried my hand at making it a tv episode. Once you start the quest you get moved to the end where you are about to be killed by a ton of bandits and as they go ready aim.. nobby and half the watch get teleported in in bolts of lightning and scream attack and a fight starts. Then a message box pops up with "A few hours earlier" and you are back to where you accepted the quest. Everything ties together but it was a crazy bit of setup I'll tell you what :smile: But it makes me laugh, especially all the lines about the guy who was murdered but nobby believes it was suicide due to the suicide note and not the dagger sticking out of his backI forgot to disable the test trig box to force run the quest when I was shooting a video of our rock troll giant watch officer Detritus :tongue: So I ran with it Uhh TL:DR againI'm ADD Also lastly this mod will be standalone.
