L1ghtz4l1fe
So I'm just now finally sitting down to play this game, I had installed before with a few mods but just never had the ability to sit down and give it full attention. Now I'm re-installing and wondering how on Earth I'm going to be able to install mods without destroying my game or causing mass chaos between mods... What I'm looking for is advice on how to install mods, what order, which ones are the best/recommended must -haves etc.I want the most out of the graphics and immersion.I know it may seem like a lot to ask and I appreciate any help given or arrows pointing towards a helpful solution. Sincerely, A relatively stressed out gamer.
postal001
Use Mod Organizer to download and install mods. It'll keep you sane. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1334/? I would start out slowly and add a few texture mods to get the hang of using Mod Organizer. Edited June 14, 2014 by postal001
notmyhome
Follow the STEP guide for your first attempt. Even if you don't fancy the mods they install, FOLLOW THAT GUIDE. It'll outfit you with pretty much every information you need to install mods. Really, they kinda hold your hand during the entire process.Once you got Skyrim to run with STEP, go nuts. You'll now know how not to foul up your game too much.
Hallgarth
My honest advice, if this is your first proper playthrough, is to get through the main story quest with only cosmetic mods. Then once that's done you can go all out.
lofgren
Don't be afraid to break the game. It's a freaking game. If you break it, that means, at absolute worst, you spend 45 minutes to an hour reinstalling it from Steam. This is not something to lose sleep over.
