Agraza
Fast Travel isn't going anywhere. If you don't like it don't use it. This is a single player game, what do you care what other people do in their game? Play how you believe it should be intended.
MiNalien
Yes, the many complaints I've gotten in this thread about the fast travel system aren't going in. There are people who do use it and do like to use it. If you want that taken out, and want something like Morrowind's Silt Striders, that's something that somebody else can (and already has) modded in. Download that file and live on. I'm now submitting this list to Bethesda, hopefully we'll get something done.
Agraza
I would like a Friend or Foe mode that prevents me from damaging my horse. I'd like to include quest allies and guards under the circumstance that they're part of the event I'm in, but I understand that it could be very difficult to decide who is and isn't an ally. It's hard to specify how it ought to work, but the issue is that I'm so tired of hitting quest allies and the such during events wherein I either get a greater reward for their continued safety or find them useful to aid me in my quest. Currently the "fix" is going through reloading saves when something of this nature sets me back, which isn't cool. Allies don't harm me, but since everyone moves so fast and I can't "target" enemies, I often slash my buddies who are constantly in the way. Even people I need to 'escort' do not act demure, they run headlong into battle and get in my damn way. Mages at the very least should stay at range and cast in a manner that archers do. Archers are the only NPCs that reliably try to keep their distance. Hard to swallow it all, I know. But y'all know where I'm coming from. Certainly this issue can be reduced in severity some how. My quick fix would just be a FOF option in the gameplay menu. Oh, and collapsible menus in the Inventory screen. Someone made a key ring, which is cool, but I think it should be a deeper addition to the inventory screen. Double Click a category header and all the items under that category collapse into the header like any +/- droplist in the Construction Set. Killians5
IMO alot of people are looking for Mods not Patches, a patch is what they are talking about. Download to fix an obvious ommision or glitch, not a personal problem with what you would have done diffrently.
Agraza
I'm not certain if your accusation is levelled at my post as well. I consider my submission an omission on their part. You truly feel that it was intended for everyone to be hitting each other in combat? I've seen the anachronistic fellows in team duels at fairs, and they do not hit their teammates at anything close to the frequency of the game. The NPCs do this with or without my intervention, but I don't make things any better by participating. It seems to me a failing point of the AI and Collission that this is so frequent. Furthermore, We receive bounties for NPCs the guards kill while they're in pursuit of us. They seem to understand this as us sending that NPC to attack them. A related problem from my perspective. MiNalien
He is right, though, Agraza. Although I have added a lot of things that seem more fit to be in some mod, most of what I've taken that could be mods were things that mods modders can't (at this present time) do (such as fixing the speechcraft game), or requesting features for modders to be able to use (such as an NIF importer/exporter). On that note, I removed 4 items that seemed to be mod request features rather than patch problems.

My quick fix would just be a FOF option in the gameplay menu.I believe there was some setting in the Morrowind.ini file that controlled how narrow an arc your target had to be in for a weapon swing to hit them. Narrowing it made it more important to have your target in the center of your field of view but made it less likely you would hit an unintended bystander. Is there something similar for Oblivion? (I don't know the name for the ini file parameter for Morrowind but you might well find it by searching the forums here.)
nastyguard
-Alt-Tab support, the game crashes like 50% of the time when tabbing to desktop. -An official fix on the huge font size in the inventory (results in lots of scrolling, and not much of an overview) which is now fixed by mod. -More than 8 hotkeys!-A more like Morrowind selling/barter system at shops. -Something to replace fast travel. Like a public transport (horse carrier?) between cities. Most of this sounds more like something to be modded then to be updated, but anyway. I use Fraps for screenshots. And incase you didn't know you can name your savegame if you save using the console. Which is even faster then opening the game menu etc. I have no trouble whatsoever Alt+Tabbing out of Oblivion, but that's most likely due to the performance of my system. Your system probably hangs due to its relatively low graphic capability. If this isnt the case, I'm not sure.
odark
i want the game not to crash to desktop when my soundcontroller appears when i change headset-speakers, for when i accidentally hit hotkeys for internet-msn or such...oh and malchik i have but 5 infamy and some people are already saying 'you're a bold little thing arent you i dont think i wanna talk to you' so npc's dont always wanna talk with me... I don't think the user's taskbar related programs are any concern to bethesda. Realistically, cited from the readme... [paraphrase] "Close any and all programs running in the background for best performance."
Humblie
hmmmm... i dont think anyones mentioned this yetbut in morrowind you could hold down the shift... or was it control... anyway that would allow you to sell all of the selected item and let you avoid the amount to sell window. i know its only small but when i sell all of the potions i loot from the gates the windows constantly poping up can get really tiresome. and is the "are you sure you want to sell this" window really necasery thats just irratating... if i dont want to sell it i wont click on it so stop asking.
