What's Your Favorite Spell?

Hi everyone!

I didn't find a topic like this so I figured I'd start a new one :P

I need more ideas for spellmaking, so I figured I'd ask what everyone else has come up with. So, what kind of custom spells has everyone made with the spellmaking?

 

My favorite spell so far is

 

Touch of Death:

Damage health 20 pt for 1 sec on Touch

Drain Health 100 pt for 1 sec on Touch

Weakness to Magic 100% for 8 sec on Touch

 

 

Sure, it may not look very powerful at first, but it's really brutal :P

The magicka cost is low due to short duration on Drain Health and weakness, about 55 magicka per cast with around 80 destruction skill.

The first casting usually does next to nothing apart from minor damage and the weakness effect, although it may kill some weaker opponents instantly (due to 100 health being drained, fun).

The second casting on the same target however, usually proves deadly.

With 100% weakness, the spell not only does twice the damage but also drains 200 health from the target which is enough to kill a summoned daedroth.

And that's not all, applying the 100% weakness to magic when the target is already weak against the effect boosts the weakness even further, so you'll actually apply 200% weakness to magicka effect to your target!

The third casting, obviously, is often very lethal :P

And if it's not, you can easily cast it over and over again due to low magicka cost.

 

I've tried a few variations of this spell as well, like Cloudkill for example, which is the same as above but with area effect of 15ft. Another good idea is to throw in 1 sec paralyze effect, which actually lasts longer than 1 sec because your target will often fall to ground when they're paralyzed and it'll take them some time to get back up again :)

 

As a side note, it's important that the effects in spell are in aforementioned order (with the weakness effect being the last), otherwise it may not produce the desired effect of increased damage over castings ;)

 

The only downside of the spell is the heavily decreased effect against monsters and targets that have high resistance to magic.

So far, it's just any old destruction spell - nothing can beat the thrill of blasting your enemy a few meters back, especially when they flip over the balcony behind them and fall down.

Anything with absorb health in it. For me it's the only spell I'll ever need. Nothing is more useful in battle than having a spell that not only damaged your enemy, but gives you the health lost from taking damage. Rarely do I ever walk away from a fight with less than 95% of my health remaining.

Destruction spells all way, as there's nothing more satisfying than seeing your enemy fry at the wrath of your fireball =D

 

Though for kicks, playing around with the paralysis spells is fun too thanks to the Havok engine.

I prefer a combo of Destruction and Mysticism:

Soul Trap for a few seconds

Any Elemental Damage or if I feel bad health drain.

Its cost is real low and if you kill your opponent with it you get his soul! This is especially useful for any Battlemage-like guy, since this way you can easily recharge your weapons... If that doesn't look tough add something else like weakness to Magicka or any other personnal touches. My battlemage has this spell as touch and after a few slashes with mykatana I use it. You wont believe how many soul gems I've filled this way!!!

Haven't found a favorite, but most used is probably Feather.

 

Always helps when you clean out 3 caves and bring in 20,000 septims of loot :) I created 3 different Feather spells at 100 pts/120sec, also have Ease Burden. So that's 350 points, then I quaffed 3 Feather potions of 188 points for 600 seconds. It wasn't pretty.
