ShmweShmwe
Hey there chaps I was browsing around the web and was reminded of the helm of Sutton hoo. which is a helmet taken from a Saxon kings burial site, and it seemed like it'd fit perfectly in Skyrim. It's a very ornate helmet with an unusual shape, but I figured certain aspects could be modified, like adding a fabric cover over the neck and exposed face bar the eyes, since it covers so much anyway. Here's some pictures of the helmet for reference Pattern guidehttp://www.archeurope.com/uploads/images/Anglo-Saxon/Sutton_Hoo/helmet/Sutton%20Hoo%20-%20The%20Helmet%20(Decoration%20Scheme).jpgIRL replica of the original helmetSimple 3D model (found on google, not my work) shows how it looks the same even with a lot of the detail removedhttp://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u318/Talak_DB/sutton_hoo5.jpg Well thanks for reading through all that folks, what do you think? Edited June 17, 2014 by ShmweShmwe
Saburaii
I think that would be so awesome, sadly I don't think we'll be seeing it in Skyrim, doesn't seem to be any content consisting of Anglo-Saxon. :/
trold
Take a look here: Early-Middleages Helmets pack for Skyrim The face plate helmet in this pack is very similar to the Sutton Hoo helm.
