thanateros
So for those of you who have done the Sanguine Daedric quest, how do you get into the dinner party. Based on the description in my journal, it implies i'm supposed to sneak into the castle (during the dinner party?) and cast the spell. So should I just wait around for dinner time (5ish) to crash the party...lemme know if i'm on the right track.
Marxist ßastard
There's some misinformation here; you don't necessarily need to sneak into the party. Under certain circumstances, the doorman will let you in.
simpo666
you can just run in the door when the countess comes out (which she does every so often), although if the guards see you doing this its a crime thats all
Rhydderch Hael
you can just run in the door when the countess comes out (which she does every so often), although if the guards see you doing this its a crime thats allWhat you are supposed to do once you get inside is itself a crime— little sense in quibbling over the trespass. ;) My question/poll here concerns the quest: once you face the Stark Reality of your situation and escape in a streak through the night, how many of us cheese out on the journey by choosing Fast-Travel to the Sanguine shrine? Who does the hard way and try hoofing it back on their own? In my current incarnation, I chose the hard way. A little preparation beforehand (just a little) with a plain sword tossed on the ground just outside the castle. I ran, picked up the sword, and fled with no less a personage than a Guard Captain at my heels. And he would not fall behind nor give up the chase like the other fellows. Took the distraction of a Land Dreugh to finally shake the guards off my trail. I took out my frustrations with Sanguine out of the first bandit I came across, then stole his clothes. By this time I was in with the Thieves Guild and had Skrivva as a Doyen, fortunately Bravil lay in my path. Unfortunately, I still had a bounty on my head, no gold, and guards positioned at the bridge leading into the city. I had to swim the moat and climb up the closer bank to Bravil's walls, then sneak through the gate and hide until dawn before I sold my gear and paid off my fines through the Guild. Needless to say, the 'hard way' gave me the impetus to bear no goodwill to Sanguine or his followers. I'm still trying to find some creatively vengeful manner to eliminate his shrine-goers and deprive the Daedric Prince of further fun.
Bored Scotsman
Hael, you do realize there is a chest at Sanguine's shrine that has all your stuff in it, right?
Rhydderch Hael
Hael, you do realize there is a chest at Sanguine's shrine that has all your stuff in it, right?I heard Sanguine's words at the close of the quest. I'm not deaf, just pleasantly insane. I know about the chest. Getting to the chest from Leyawiin— well, you can cheese out and simply fast-travel as soon as you shake the guards (thus shrugging off the challenge of the quest), or you can roleplay it and figure out just how a character walks from one end of Cyrodiil to the other whilst skyclad (and thus engender all sorts of vengeful notions of—revenge ). Abramul
Now that I've gotten past a stumbling block: If you have a reasonable level in Alteration as well as Illusion/Sneak, you can outfit yourself acceptably in the Leyawiin Castle. I've already gotten a reputable set of clothes, a set of Alchemy equipment, a lockpick and some torches, a few scrolls, some decent (commercial) potions, and a shield. I figure I'll blast a few skooma dealers just to make sure I *could* do it on foot, and the just Recall to the shrine. (Having done so) Novice potions are quite underpowered. I would have been wiped out if I didn't have Immobilize.
