FWE + MMM + FOOK2 + RWI = unrealistic

Hey all,

 

I have been playing with FWE + MMM + FOOK + RWI + a tons of other great mods but i feel that the game is a bit to rpg-ish with my current setup. Currently I have to shoot a weak npc 2 times in the head before he dies, if i put the difficulty up to hard it is even more unrealistic, and easy no way. I haven't found any supporting mods that tweaks the damage by weapons that works. I don't want to remove any of my mods, so what can I do to make the game more challenging in terms of damage?, ideal would be to be able to tweak it myself to find the best level of realism, any ideas?

 

btw It's bubbly is a mini balance mod inspired by the book The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Its about brutal realism in terms of health damage and items. While it doesn't work with my current setup I would like to know what kind of mods that does some of the same things as this mod, especially if there is a mod that makes item more rare to find?

That is the million dollar question.

 

The problem is Fallout is basicly a which gun does more damage game, there is little difference between naked and armored NPCs, the weapons are poorly ballanced and so forth.

 

Its hard to balanced because the game is too simplitic in its damage forumla. Everything is DR or a flat damage resistance, so you just have to go over it with more damage.

 

 

Myself I was looking for nearly the same thing as you and I ended up having to make it.

 

Currently working on a MOD that allows damage to bypass DR and then hit on different resistances past that. Mainly the idea is about armor penetration for example some bullets are Low Velocity so 70% of their damage hits DR and 30% passes through. A High Velocity bullet will have only 30% of its damage hit DR and the rest bypasses.

 

Also weapons have bleeding effects, nothing crazy just 1 damage over 6 seconds, 2, for 6, 3 for 6.

 

The Player has reduced HPs and so do the NPCs so gun fights are more realistic and faster paced, also some projectiles are faster ( Plasma, Rail, Minigun)

 

In any case I wanted to make the game more realistic and not make it take 4000 bullets on hard to kill a raider. And make the weapons feel right, make shooting a mole rat, raider, Talon, and Enclave with a shotgun a completely different experience.

 

Stimpack heal over time, like 1 HP for 30 seconds. The Economy is better, things cost more, bullets might set you back more than the price of a bent tin can now...

 

You have to think about your choices and plan ahead a bit more.

 

 

I wish you the best of luck in finding what you want I'll link my mod but its in beta atm, and while it works the "feel" is about 80% where I want it. But I spent weeks trying to find a good mod that make the damage more realistic and challenging...but that flat DR is something I really havent seen anyone address.

 

Most damage Mods cant balance damage on the weapons so they just throw 50 new ones at you...I want the ones we already have to work first myself.
