GunnerofLife
In all of my years of playing and modding Oblivion, this year is the first time I've ever heard about PyFFI. To my knowledge, PyFFI is stripping meshes from "non-important and invisible" geometry faces. Please correct me if I'm wrong. In turn, it gives the user a HUGE performance boost. For someone like me, who is very annoyed with Oblivion not using more than one core, I'm very interested in this. So far, I've looked at the Oblivion PyFFI Automator. Besides the fact that the mod hasn't been updated since 2009, many people in the comments say it can possibly break my game. I also found a few forums that were from 2009-2010, but I don't want to risk following a possibly outdated method. My question is: In your opinion, what is the safest and fastest way to PyFFI my meshes? If fastest isn't viable, then I'm willing to do it manually as long as I have clear and precise instructions to work with. Thanks for your help. EDIT: Also, I have a bunch of graphics mods (biggest one I can think of is QTP3) and mods like Better Cities. Can I PyFFI those too? Sergio1992
It depends what you mean by "huge". The maximum I was able to see around is a gain of 1 FPS on the best cases. The thing that gets improved the most is the stability. But according to me it's not that worth it...Check this topic:http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1470965-pyffi/?hl=%2Bpyffi Edited June 23, 2014 by Sergio1992
GunnerofLife
Oh wow, only 1 FPS? Then this might not be worth doing manually after all. I'm desperate, but I can't exactly say every 1 FPS will help. Thanks for replying though.
