I was poking around the forums and after reading countless polls about who your favorite NPC is, I decided to create my own little poll. As an amateur architetcure scholar, and belive me I use the term lightly, I want to know what your favorite city is. So go ahead, don't be shy, come on down and vote! Don't forget to tell us all why, and fear not Alessia Ottus won't judge you if you pick anything other then The Imperial Cities Temple District!

I'll get things rolling. Mine is Skingrad. I absoluty adore the tall grand stone buildings rising up over tight narrow cobblestone streets. The homes of nobles appear to be taller then the next, as if they were all fighting for some sort of show of power.

The castle on the steep bluff overlooking the town is also someting to see, and not only that but it is one of two unique castles in the game (Castle Skingrad, and Castle Anvil), which I love. The surrounding country side helps to seal the deal for me on Skingrad, the gentle rolling hills, the bright red trees and flowers, the rich green grass, and let me tell you some of those hills have, in my opinion, a more beautiful view then Dive Rock.

I use Better Cities in my game, but played for a long time without, due to a rather old computer, even so, I would still pick vanilla Skingrad over anyother city in a heartbeat.

I agree with Jaysus regarding Leyawiin. I just wish I could fathom what they were thinking when they put that city into the final game. What happened to the fantastic concept art? Leyawiin looked gorgeous. Now I'm left with a city that just cuts across the mouth of the Niben. I just dont understand how that made it past quality control. Sure maybe there is some logic in there somewhere such as it was a small town that grew to protect the Niben and Imperial City from enemy ships by uh completly blocking it off. There isn't even a port or even barge dock in the city. It just kind of dams up the river, and don't ask how those ships get to Imperial City or Bravil, just assume it was magic.

I just wish that Open Citites Leyawiin Reborn wasn't blocked anymore. I used to have it a long time ago before my hard drive died on me, went to redownload it and saw it was blocked by the author. I was very sad.

The best I like is Anvil, just because it is next to the ocean and it is very beautiful. (Especially with the Unique Landscape mods)

Second would be Leyawiin. I dont know why but it is just cool to be at.

My favorite is Cheydinhal, Dark Brotherhood's my favorite questline, and so I spend a lot of time there. I also think it has some of the coolest side-quests...like the one where the guard captain's being a %&$! to the town to score some easy money. I've also always liked the colonial-style architecture that it displays, as well as the dark elf influences.

I can't stand Leyawiin, it doesn't make sense, as an above poster pointed out. Not only that, but it's layout is rather confusing as well.

Also, I have to hate the Mozaga quests, because I cannot complete them. Black Brugo never shows up....in either the 360 version, the vanilla PC version, or patched and modded PC version. Useless quest just sits there, and Mozaga just yells at me.

Despite Leyawiin's wonderful culture, and the fact that everywhere you turn, there was what appeared to be a good idea for a quest. I mean really, the countess butchered the residents... There was racial tension with everyone you spoke too!!! To top it off, city planning sucked so badly that there should have been a quest to keep the city from flooding in on itself. It was like an idea goldmine! So much to do...

The only thing there is an orc, a scamp staff, a psychic, and the blackwood company...

I'll have to vote for Anvil. very Unique due to part of the town existing outside of the walls of the city, and a lighthouse that works. It also has a separate castle for the countess. plenty of things to do, and due to it's location, plenty of modding opportunity.

If had to choose out of the lot, it would be Leyawiin. It is by far the most well laid out city imo and it has plenty of great quests. Its funny though; seeing as how I visit Leyawiin far less than I do the others. Maybe that is just another reason I enjoy it so.
