jonas66
I'm kind of at a loss here, which doesn't happen all that often. I'm working on a new outfit, and I'm having some trouble with the way the mesh and textures interact. Here it is in nifskope. http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j334/jonas_opines/bootsdark_zpscdf62bf1.jpg The issue is with the boots. There should be no reason for them to be showing up that dark. It's using a custom texture, but the color of the boot leather in the texture file is maybe just a shade darker than the loincloth and tights. There is something in the mesh property that is making it much darker, and I can't figure out what. I've erased the material settings and completely re-done them, but it doesn't change anything. The boots are from vanilla resources, cut out from one of the merc outfits. I can always switch out the boots, but I like this one for this set, and I'd like to know why it's doing this in case I run across it again in the future. Any ideas? prodlimen
Have you tried erasing the vertex color? :). Some of the meshes from Fallout have a part of the mesh coloured in dark, so when you try to retexture them that part doesn't seem to change. jonas66
I think that was it, thanks. Had to look up the window instructions, but when I went into vertex paint mode they were painted a purplish hue, so I'm guessing that's going to be it. I can't quite figure out how to simply delete, but I did just repaint to white. Thanks!

prodlimen
To erase vertex paint is very easy. Just select the part you want the paint to be removed and follow the pictures to know which menu and button you have to press :D. http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums/ag91/marcelgunaris/Vertex_zpseb93f2ae.jpghttp://i1300.photobucket.com/albums/ag91/marcelgunaris/Vertex2_zps0b7c5093.jpg
donta1979
it may be the vertex shading, or your face normals are reversed.
