Out of all the vanilla armor sets what ones do you think would actually be classified as medium armor.?

I always wondered why armors only came in light or heavy but no medium armor classes. I mean plate and chain mail combo is more like a medium class of armor instead of purely a heavy classification. In your opinion what armors do you think would fit into a medium class of armors. vanilla or mod armors included.?

And cue discussion. :)

If there was a chainmail in game, I'd say that would be it. Medium armor would be one that is not as heavy as the heavy, but still somewhat heavier than the light version, while having an armor rating about 50% more than the light version. But i don't know where it would fit in terms of playstyle, because both "mobile yet protected" and "protected but less mobile" are covered, leaving very little middle ground

All of the Vanilla on the "Light" side above scale; Elven Gilded, Glass and Dragonscale all have heavy coverage, but lighter weight material and it seems to me those would be "medium."

Vanilla Steel doesn't seem like it should be in the same class as Steel Plate, and the same goes for Ancient Nord.

Imperial Studded and Penitus Oculatus seem right in the medium wheelhouse along with Stormcloak Officer.

I don't know much about historical armor, but based these opinions mostly on appearance and the medium class from Morrowind.
