Mods for Mazken, Hand to Hand, and Vampires

I've been playing oblivion for a while. I got the official plugins, but now I'm ready to start going beyond vanilla. There are three things I'd like some opinions on.

1) Is there a way to unlock playable Mazken? According to UESP, Mazken exist just like any other humanoid. They have racial abilities and gender differences and stuff. Is there a way to simply unlock them as a playable character? If not, I have seen a number of different Mazken mods and I wonder which one is truest to their standard Shivering Isles version.

2) Ever since I first saw the Bands of Kwang Lao, I have wanted to make a real hand to hand character. The problem, though, is that they have no weapons, which seriously hurts their potential damage output. Are there any mods where gauntlets can serve double duty, acting as both armor and weapon? Maybe they could have defensive enchantments and aggressive ones. If there isn't anything like that, what mods would you recommend to make hand to hand more enjoyable to play with?

3) Vampires. Obviously the vanilla version is pretty sub par. One thing I did like, though, was how they got stronger as their infection grew and how one of the buffs was for Hand to Hand. I really wanted to make a vampire that would just run up and murder people with his bare fists, but as has been said, hand to hand is lacking. I know there are a number of vampire mods out there. I am waiting for Unholy Darkness to come out, but until then, what vampire mods would you recommend?

Thanks all.

Hi there!

1- About unlocking mazken i´ve never tried this but i think if you select the race in the construction set race window, go to the text data and check playable, thats all you need to be able to chose that race in game. If you want to start a new game you´ll need the Custom race fix i think:

2- I highly recommend Sephs Hand to Hand Animation Replacer:

3- Honestly don´t know. The only mod related to vampires that i use is the Vampire Race Disabler plugin( http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15697 ) and a personal mod with some little tweaks of my own. I´ve been looking to try a few vampire mods but haven´t got to it yet.

Hope this helps out

Cheers :)

Try this out:

Race Balancing Project

Completely compatible with FCOM, OOO, MMM, WarCry, all that jazz. Includes MANY new playable races, 99.9% lore-friendly. Also includes tweaks and improvements for literally EVERYTHING dealing with your character.

Among them are:

Making useless skills useful, (same goes for useless birth signs)

Making magic worth using (I used to play a stealth character until I got this and Midas Magic...now I play a stealth character that only sneaks cause he WANTS to, not cause he HAS to...)

many more.

WARNING: NOT compatible with Beautiful People. BP has some rather...poor... design decisions that will break Race Balancing Project.

Make sure to read all the way through, (as well as the detailed installation instructions in the Readme) so as to know exactly what will change when you start a new game.

This IS compatible with most body replacer mods, just not Beautiful People.

(Don't quote me on this, but I think it also modifies vampires as well, but you'll have to read it for yourself to find out, as I avoid vampirism like the plague.)

'Racing Balance Project' itself acts like a cosmetic/race mod, IIRC. You know, it's not so recommended to use two or more cosmetic compilation mods together... (Well, however, some Japanese modder made RBP conversion for 2ch Modular Beautiful People)

The creator of RBP has an extensive list of which ones are compatible and which ones aren't. Which is one reason I recommended reading the entire thing before doing anything with it, heh.

Specifically, it supports body conversion mods, as well as a few other cosmetic ones.

But yes, RBP does have cosmetic and race modifications and additions. Which is the main reason I mentioned it to the TC. Though the gameplay changes of RBP are awe-inspiring and totally the best part of the mod. The reason I mentioned Beautiful People is that the RBP creator specifically states that he/she has removed support for Beautiful People due to poor coding on Beautiful People's part, so I imagined it was a rather big issue.
