Javalin
The modders in this community are just far more naturally gifted when it comes to game development. If Bethesda showed the same care and devotion to games like Oblivion and Morrowind, they'd probably create the best looking game. They seem to be putting more time into the story of it, and maybe the lore of the game than the actual game itself. I mean, they probably have 1000s or so working for them, but the design team for it ain't exactly dedicated in multiple areas. Its like, everybody worked on one thing. As the saying goes "Too many cooks, spoil the broth" its the case with Oblivion. Knights of the Nine wasn't very good. It was nowhere near as good as Bloodmoon (2nd and final Expansion to Morrowind)

We all have different styles, tastes and opinions. What if I make a mod that seems like it is a slice of heaven that couldn't have been done any better? Do you honestly think that every mod I make will have that same effect on you? Or even the very next person to download it and try it out? Nope. I've made mods that are very popular and mods that only a handful of people like and even some that only one person likes (not even myself). If I make swords and do them very well, why would I ever do anything like shields? Why would I stray away from what I do the best? To keep from boredom, being pigeon-holed as being not able to do anything else or just a means to reach a new crowd of fans? It doesn't really matter why...just know that you can satisfy some people some of the time but never everyone all the time. (Notice the evil Sith-like absolutes used in that last sentence?) EDIT: Oh....yes, I am sleep deprived this week as well! LHammonds PS - I'm with bben about Bethesda messing up how they handled the DLCs. Then again, they said it was an experiment...probably to see what the best-case scenario would be if they provided a low-cost solution for additional content for a game in a fan-saturated user-base. Apparently it didn't go so well...and I really hope the Mass Effect 2 model is not adopted as it was VERY irritating.

I think you might have misunderstood me somewhere dude :P What I meant was- some aspects of Morrowind were much better than Oblivion - Take for example the Daedric Set. I personally prefered the Morrowind one, simply because of the looks and style of it. The Oblivion Daedric just looks terrible in terms of design, i got the sense that it was somewhat.. fuzzy? If that makes sense. I can't say I overly enjoyed the fast travel system for example that Oblivion was given, because it just simply cut alot of the length out of the game. Its optional, but it was nowhere near as fun as Morrowinds scroll that you get from that guy who falls from the sky near where you start. Morrowind had quite alot more than Oblivion in terms of what you could do, Spears, Crossbows, Throwing Knifes, Levitation, Werewolves, a much longer story line aswell. There was also none of this "Hey your quest target is here" - You actually had to go searching for it. So it brings a better sence of adventure to the RPG. No company, restaurant or whatever can impress in every single way possible. People have different opinions, they are welcome to share their opinions as long as its within the Nexus rules. Like saying "This mod sucks" is a completely unwelcome opinion, regardless of the mod thats been created. As for this community in terms of modding - I reckon the people like yourself and many many many others that are truely talented, definately beyond the skills of Bethesda. - Yes, I loved the Lost Paladins of the Nine and Apophis Armory btw, was truely Wow'd by them, simply because of how original it was. It wasn't something that someone had tried to do in the past, also the horse and the Armor + Swords were amazingly designed. Edit: I'm never dissapointed with new meshes :P It adds more variety to the game I understand from Bethesda's PoV that there is only so much time they can spend on the game, and they have got to do much more than the modding community. They'd have to be working on the expansions, patches and extra DLC. I mean, its not like they could spend as much time doing a single thing like the modders can. Some mods out there, people have worked on for 3 months, and are still continuing to update them on a regular basis, and Bethesda can't do that because of other projects. It does suck that they do have a limited time window to work on the game and get it released so they can work on expansions. I personally wasn't impressed with the KotN expansion, simply because it was very short, and required a tiny bit of exploration to get the blessings from the Divines. So yeah like i said, its impossible to satisfy everyone all of the time, and people are probably going to have different opinions Kind Regards Jav' P.S. Appologies if this is a little unclear. I haven't slept much in the last week
