zprospero
The Oblivion architecture has the spiky unforgiving look that I wouldlike, but some fort ruins architecture would fit in pretty well too. This quest is meant to be a large dungeon/world, essentially, as itwill have been besieged by Dremora and other daedra. These are what I'm using as Nocturnal's personal daedra. It's sortof a hive as these are the warriors, and then there are darkenedsee-through NPCs which are more the administrators and such.http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/nocturnal.jpg The idea is that you fight up, much like how you do in an Oblivion citadel, until you reach Nocturnal's throne room. I was thinking maybe, you fight upthree smaller towers to unlock the gates to get to the main keep, there will beplaces where you get help, as there will be an army of respawning daedra inthe courtyard. If you free the administrator Nocturnals and take them to ritual stones(they're basically like the Order crystals) they summon respawningUber-Nocturnals (the ones in the picture) who help you turn the tideagainst the other daedra. Then you clear the main keep and ascend toNocturnal's throne to receive your rewards. Oneof which is the ability to summon one of those Uber-Nocturnals. So, about as large as one of the larger Oblivion planes. If this sounds like too much for you, then you can just worryabout making a tileset that I can use to make it. All the scriptingfor the ritual stones and other things I can handle. Basically, however much you want to do is fine with me.
ub3rman123
Perfect, an Oblivion plane isn't something I've tried before. Sounds like fun. Also, the dwarven architecture looks like it'd be nice to use. I've been toying with the idea on how to build a castle from that. Any objection to me retexturing Mr_Siika's work? kieranfoy
I personally don't see that Dwarven tileset being very Nocturnal-ish, or even very intersting. Personally, there's a Telvanni tileset out there that would look awesome retextured black and grey, but maybe that's me.
zprospero
Well, they're both excellent tilesets, but it is a bit "Lord of the Ring's"-ish. However, it is meant to be her private realm, it could have multiple facets. Here's a link to the Telvanni tileset I and Kieran, I assume, mean: Link
ub3rman123
Very well. I'll take a look at the Telvanni architecture. From what I've seen of it, though, I don't see it being capable of formation into a mundane fortress. I'm thinking a tower, still Telvanni style, but in a shape to look more.. volcanic, more flowing. I'll try to experiment some with the tileset and see what comes of it.
zprospero
Well, if you find that you think you could make it better with Mr_Siika's dwarven city I'm notagainst it, as I think the Telvanni one is less grandiose than a daedric Prince would indulge in. It might work with them as separate systems, architectural for the dwellings of the Admin Nocturnals, and perhaps the Throne room, which should be very imposing, and then primal organic undergroundpassages for the brutish Uber-Nocturnals. As I said, there's no reason the realm cannot have facets. I look forward to seeing whatever you come up with. :)
ub3rman123
I have an idea.. A gilded obsidian look, like that of ebony armaments in Oblivion. A smooth, volcanic appearance, gilded with precious metals.. I'd need to figure out how to make a custom texture for that, though, as I doubt the vanilla ebony things could be easily applied. A different idea involved dark blue crystal.
kieranfoy
Personally, I think the veins (I assume) of indigo crystal idea sounds better. Precious metals are far to flashy for Nocturnal. She's one of the quiet types, you see.
zprospero
Well, I've never seen the crystal that Kieran's talking about, but for the ebony, I think I can come up with a texture for you. If I make you a, hopefully, tile-able texture for ebony would that help?
ub3rman123
Sounds like it would. If you can get the texture to me at some point, I'll create a few possible layouts for the castle and post some screenshots.
