utubeforway Posted June 25, 2014 Share Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) Having a weird problem that whenever I load skyrim through SKSE, the game won't start. The game will open for maybe a quarter of a second (box appears in the top left corner showing the game open), then get the classic, "Skyrim has stopped working" box windows seems to love. Running skyrim by itself works fine, but without SKSE, and that limits things quite a bit. Only thing that worked was a fresh install of skyrim. New Data folder, new SKSE, etc... Even then, the problem returned at random 2 days later. Repeated this again, and the problem returned again just now (3 days later). More small details-Takes a good 30 seconds - 1 minute for that crash notice to come up.Nothing in particular caused this from user error (that I'm aware of). I didn't install any new mods, change any values for anything, or mess with my computer in any big way before the crash happened for all 3 times.BOSS, TES5 edit, or uninstalling all mods has no effect. Problem stays.Uninstalling SKSE by itself doesn't solve anything. Needs to be the entirety of Skyrim.I'll give anymore information if asked. Anyone have any idea to fix this? Edit: Do Run NMM/BOSS/TES5 editAll DLC's and somewhat very modded. Boss does not solve anything and load order is not the problem from what I can tell. LucHighwalker Posted June 26, 2014 Share Posted June 26, 2014 I had a problem with skse, it wasn't the same as yours, it would just open the skyrim launcher for me. (and wouldn't run) To fix it, I deleted all the skse files (including mods and the ones in your documents), then I installed the alpha version of skse. This made skse work normally again. But now certain mods (which I ran with before) cause the game to crash as soon as it goes to the main menu. Not sure if it's related or not, just giving you a heads up. Booting SKSE with admin privileges fixes the launcher issue, but I can't launch Skyrim through it at all. Can't even get to the Bethesda logo. SKSE is not installed properly or you are not starting the game using SKSE2. Wrong Version of SKSE3. Some mod that only runs when SKSE is active is set up wrong ( usually some mod with multiple parts that cannot all be used at the same time)4.
