Eshenaleros
Aren't vampires supposed to be ugly? They are dead. They can only keep from rotting and completely dying by drinking the blood of the living. The first vampire movie, "Nosferatu," had a really ugly vampire. Since then, Hollywood has come up with some really attractive vampires. I don't quite understand it.It's because of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula'. before then, Vampires were seen as monsters that came out at night in a blood lusting fury seeking a meal in whatever form they could, then hiding among the populace until the next night came when they were hungry. After Bram Stoker's novel people thought of vampires as borderline sexual creatures that were very dark (the whole exchange of fluids deal), especially since he made a lot of references to that. Since then they've grown into something we fantasize about because it would be, as one book put it, "Like having sex with Ice wrapped in velvet". On top of that, the original novel characterized Dracula as a count, which would be a lord of middle rank ruling over a small region, which is why we have such stereotypes these days (Thank you Count Hassildor). Personally, I like the idea that there's an in between - Different types of vampires are different ways. The slavering monsters that snatch up women and children in the streets, with haughty, marble-skinned creatures elsewhere. It's why like one of the vampire overhauls they have here on the nexus (StarX Vanilla Vampires Revised I think, but i'm not sure), because it has both. In any case, I find it best to get an overhaul or at least a bugfix like the UOP to take care of the "Christian bale" face routine
