CTD when I open the world map; help?

I get a crash to desktop whenever I open the world map, and I'm not sure why. Skyrim instantly switches to a black screen with a window frame (as if I had Alt+Tabbed out) before vanishing a fraction of a second later. The game is otherwise stable even with a large number of mods installed; I don't get consistent crashes anywhere else, and while my frame rate is low (in the 14 - 21 FPS range) it's generally consistent. I'm mostly a console peasant and I only recently got Skyrim on PC, so I'm not well-versed on all this, but I'll offer what information I can.

System specs

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.40GHz [listed four times in Device Manager]

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 520

RAM: 8GB

OS: Windows 7, 64-bit

Game details

Install path: C:\program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\

DLCs: Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn

Version: 1.9.32.0

Mod manager: Nexus Mod Manager 0.50.3

Load order manager: LOOT

Mods that aren't, like, the usual ESP/BSA/etc. things

SKSE (skse_loader.exe lists itself as version 0.1.6.16)

SSME - Skyrim Startup Memory Editor

ScriptDragon

Load order (plugins.txt)

Strangely, AFAIK the only mod here that affects the world map is "A Quality World Map", and disabling that did not stop the crashes. Anywho, I don't have a BOSS readout because apparently that program's been deprecated for some time (I'm using LOOT which shows no errors), but here's my load order for active plug-ins.

Still working on translating these to recognizable mod names. The post editor here is mangling the list for some reason. Repeatedly. Weird.

Through testing, I have confirmed that the problem is not caused by the majority of my mods or by any specific settings/overrides I've enabled on the graphics card. A clean install (aside from some SKSE / SSME stuff) still crashed when opening the map.

Is a non-mod-related issue outside the scope of these forums?

I have .../Data/meshes/sky/skyrimworldmapcloudbank.nif

EDIT: Temporarily removing the file did not resolve the crash. I also tried a few other things (e.g. tcl-ing into the sky at about world map height) and I still don't know what the problem is.

Don't know what the problem is, but thanks for trying to help, mate. It's appreciated.

EDIT: After another clean install, I've confirmed that it's something in my INI files. I'm working on tracking down what, precisely, it is; I'll update this post when I find it.

EDIT: No clue how I missed this in previous searches, but adding bBloodSplatterEnabled to the INI files kills the world map.
