Jokco
I'm just curious, would it be possible to develop a mod that would add online-support to oblivion, something players could connect to and have their world suddenly be shared by whatever other oblivion players are out there, doing whatever it is they are doing. I was thinking that it would be rather awesome to be able to implement something like this, even if it's only in a very small portion of the game. My idea is this, oblivion's cities all have inns, restaurants, and pubs. And aside from finding quests, they are almost useless. So what if all those places because player-shared zones? You walk into the merchants inn, for instance, and could interact with anyone else hanging about inside the merchants inn. It would even give those more out of the way a more realistic feel, there'd be way less people there, if any at all. While the merchants inn would be heavily trafficked. Maybe a command - like say - could be added to the console so that it could be turned into a chatbox of sorts, or even a new menu for it altogether. Oh, I also thought that if something like this were possible, could it be taken a little further? I'd like to add an interaction to all the tables in these otherwise useless zones like restaurants, where you could sit down with other players and play some form of poker using your characters actual gold. Texas Holdem maybe, maybe 5 card draw, which has that more roadhouse feel. It would even make it possible for characters to have horrible gambling problems and lose all their gold at the pubs playing cards. So basically, I want to know if anyone has screwed around with anything like this and if they'd had any luck with it. I just wanna know, could it be done? Slawter500
There have been quite a few Oblivion onlines.Oblivion RebornOblivion Online There are various others like Multi Tes4 etc. But those are the best. That isn't to say they are good. Because I personally don't like them.
Vagrant0
In short, yes, it's technically possible, however the result would never be anything that you would particularly want to use... Ever.
Pushkatu
Oblivion is not meant to be played online. It's engine is buggy enough as it is and trying to make it work online would only mess things up even more. Don't expect to find a working game, becouse you won't. If you just want to have some fun and you don't realy care if it's buggy or not, than go ahead and do it as it's your decision.
