A few days ago I saved and went to bed... the next day when I loaded my game to play I noticed that all the npcs were rather rude and god forbid I ask them about rumors...

I've tried anything I've found on the forum to fix this problem to no avail...

anyone have any ideas what my problem could be?

tried raising my personality via console

tried the stat fix ring

ect..

I am not a vampire and I have 0 infamy

I created a charm spell and t does not seem to affect the disposition hmm and as far as I know I was not currently working on any quests

I made a new char just to test it out and it does not appear that he has the personality bug

one thing I've noticed is I can bribe someone to 100 disp as soon as I re-enter conversation with them again its back down to 0 :(

I have no clue what it could possibly be. I also added no mods between me saving and loading my game when the problem started.

it also seems that guards want to attk me when I have no bounty I dont know much about this but it seems more like an aggression or faction problem.

Im gonna try turning off all of my mods and seeing if the problem is resolved then.

Would your new char be a custom race, perhaps? Say one of the lesser known demon races?

Racist lot they are in Cyrodil. Unless its balanced just right you can find some custom races falling into the "nobody loves me everybody hates me, I think I'll go eat worms" bracket.

Try modding your race with the console.

Do please remember that this is glitchy as hell but I've never had any problems doing it thus;

1 - Load the save.

2 - Open the race menu (console and type in "showracemenu" without the " " )

3 - DON'T CLOSE THE CONSOLE. Pretty please with yella polkadots on it. You'll break your toon. Or more specifically your stats.

4 - Change your toon to whatever race you want. (And still don't close the bloomin console)

This is where people's opinions change on what must be done. Some say save and reload. Some say save, quit and restart the game, all say do so without closing the console, some say without closing the race menu... I say better safe than sorry, as in

5 - Still without closing the console or the race menu ; save your game.

6 - Quit. Right out. Back to desktop.

7 - Restart the game, reload the save and talk to someone, see if thats changed anything. If it has, inform the race creator (unless it was your own of course) that they may have a problem they should likely look into. Best way is usually a private message and include all the data you can - game version, OBSE y/n, mod version, load order, ect ect ect.

Thats about it.

Hope I helped.

1. Perhaps using console command 'ref.moddisposion <actorID> <value>' would work. In console mod, click on any NPC, type 'moddisposition <playerID> <value>'. Can't remember if the player's baseID was 14...

2. And, check your personality. It also affects disposition. (<- looks like doesn't work well)

3. If the NPC is persuadable, you can bribe him/her to raise disposition.

Hmm... I don't tend to use any of Script Optimisers, but unless they were purpose built for the newest releases of OBSE, I can see how they would be causing issues... yours isn't an issue I would expect anything like that to cause, but hey.

Too many changes to the same element of the game.

Also known as "too many cooks spoil the broth" syndrome.
