batesmotel34
I finally had a Duh! moment today when playing with the grass draw distance to see how it affected my overall video performance after being annoyed by the grass spontaneously appearing at a distance too close to my character to be ignorable.. Up until now my character has had a number of occasions after a fight in the outdoors of having trouble finding the bodies of slain opponents, dropped weapons etc after a fight is done. Since my character is primarily using conjuration for magic and a bow as my main weapon, I frequently find myself not standing next to my opponents' bodies once they are finally dispatched. Going around and beating the tall grass to find them is frequently quite frustrating and I've certainly given up on finding some of my opponents bodies to loot since there is no affect on the grass in game for having a body fall into it or from having been trampled by several monsters or people having fought and run through it. It suddenly occurred to me today after a running fight with several daedra outside an Oblivion Gate that the remedy to this problem was to temporarily turn the grass draw distance down to the minimum end of the slider in the video options until I located the bodies I sought and to then position :it back to normal. Some may consider it a minor cheat but I figure it can be rationalized as being equivalent to the fact that the grass and such really would be flattened and distrubed in the real world rather than just waving undisturbed in the breeze. King Of Squirrels
There is an even simpler way to do it, go into the console, and type "tg", It toggles the grass on and of, and its even faster for those lazy bums out there, Cheers
