metaton Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) Hi guys, Problem: Enemies not scaling properly, Spec: I7 4770K processor,8 Gb RAM,2x R9 290X gpu,Asus Rog HERO motherboard.SSD samsung EVO I have the latest genuine (STEAM) Skyrim (version 1.9) with all ( HF, DB, DG ) DLCs. I am using the following programs/mods : Mod organizer, Skse 1.7 alphaSkyuiFNIS Mods that are affecting combat: Skyre (without scaling module)Revenge of the enemies,Asis ( just potions, spells, spawns, perks package.),Sum,Wyre Smash, (bashed patch)Ultimate combat,Deadly dragons---> deadly monstersDual sheath redux,Skyrim monster mod V4Monster wars V6Skyrim immersive creatures,High level enemies,High level enemies hardcore. I have many more other mods, but they are not affecting combat stats.(visuals, armor, weapon compilations followers and new lands.) Longer description: The enemies were too soft so I started to use HLE and then HLE hardcore. I haven't seen any amped up special enemies yet as I am level 11, but the reason why I am writing is that for example yesterday I wanted to attack a bandit fort. All enemies outside were lvl 1 bandits and I am lvl 11.It was ridicolously easy with my 2 followers .Inside I ran into 1 bandit outlaw lvl 5And 1 bandit thug lvl 9. The rest of them was lvl 1 again.Someone can explain to me how this HLE scaling supposed to work?I have that version which says enemies will scale with you. Obviously not...Also saber cats lvl 3. Draugrs lvl 1-2...Restless draugrs are lvl 6.I started to use deadly dragons/monsters to amp up the enemies if they not scale with me properly and then lvl 1 enemies are a bit more challenging but when a lvl 8-11 version shows up( it is happening occasionally) it is almost invincible...Somebody can help me to explain this is should be like that or I am doing something wrong? As I am understanding when HLE says enemies will scale with me that means they should be all lvl 11 as me or they should have THAT variant turns up which in level matches to me (for example Bandit Thug lvl 9 or Highwayman lvl 14 when I am lvl 11) ? My experience: SIC creatures are really hard which is good.Monster mod monsters are a bit weaker but in level they are high---I met with a lvl 18 forest drake at lvl 6 so maybe they are a bit overscaled but maybe they are not effected by HLE wich is fine.) So i think JUST the VANILLA CREATURES have scaling problems. I can be wrong, but this is what I think. (how I do it--> Bashed patch--->(skyre post ,pre, and reproccer esps turned off let merge the mergeable mods then rebuild patch)---> after bashed patch--->prereproccer.esp turned back on-->SUM (wich uses/creates---->BOSS---> ASIS--->Dual sheath redux--->Reproccer patches in this order). I checked what is in the bashed patch: SIC MoMOD and HLE is included too.--->enable reproccer and post reproccer.esp--->play.) As far as I know the scaling should be done by High level enemies mod as the Author in the mod description states on the webpage his mod is NOT compatible with Skyre scaling module (module 6) so this is why Skyre scaling module is left out. However it is compatible with Skyre and with deadly dragons, ASIS. In MO Higher level enemies NOT conflicting with anything. My questions are: 1.How vanilla scaling works?2. How HLE should work (every creature is at my exact level (because Hardcore, maybe even higher)) ?3. The way how I do the bashed patch and skyproccers is good?4. What can cause the problem generally? Thank you for your help people:) Edited June 29, 2014 by metaton
Mebantiza Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 HLE does 'work', I can assure you. However, I suspect it is not as 'potent' a mod as I seem to recall it was in the past. One thing I can suggest is-that you might want to try a game with as *few* 'difficulty' mods as possible. There is no gurantee all those mods wont work at cross purposes in some obscure way. With HLE it is fairly easy to tell it working, you will start to see mobs with non-conforming names. Like 'King Skeever' for example. Or Draugr Immortal. You wont see those@L11 however. You will also see bandits and casters with new names. HLE's shockmancers for example, or the Forsworns Harbinger(female-no face paint) that appears later on. Those can one shot you to death even if Level 55+. Many of the Master and ascendent class casters HLE introduces can be quite deadly-no matter your level. Bandit chiefs(female model) will be quite tough, and have the red forehead bug. My recent experience with RoTE for another example, showed me some very very tough boss mobs, but weak or mediocre mooks and mid-level mobs, not especially hard to kill in most instances. The boss mobs-yes very hard some of them. If you want to get a more precise idea of what HLE is doing here is one way. Set up a fight-any will do.Open consoleTarget mobType:getavinfo healthNote the hps. Close SkyrimDisable HLERepeat above-you should see a difference. The other thing I notice that tends to work at cross-purposes with difficulty mods is you say your using 2 followers. That can also be a problem because followers are so stupidly overpowered in Skyrim its not even funny. I never go out with more than one. The game is sadly easy on Legendary with one follower, let alone more than. But you are right about vanilla scaling, or scaling in general. I think its hopelessly broken as things stand. I am having multiple problems with scaling. Followers are too powerful, my defences are too powerful. Soul gems are not scaling properly anymore. Modded armors(mostly) are too powerful. I cant fill my Black Star by killing Draugr Reapers@ Level 65 anymore-WTF? A level 65 Draugr with HLE scaled only has 1500 hp, and they only occasionally cough up a Grand soul now.(I think one of the USKP may have something to do with that-but im not sure) Me and my one follower are eating 'standard' enhanced Deathlords easily. But like I said, HLE is working-question is working in relation to what? You will get challenging fights with HLE no question. But with all those other mod running concurrently, cant say for sure if one is going to take over. Frustrates me to no end how easy the game has become despite all my efforts to toughen it up....
metaton Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) Yeah this is what I feel exactly. i don`t really want a difficulty mod, because it will make my followers stronger too. ---> badass monsters=badass followers.this is the reason why I never EVER use magic user follower apart from Cerviden. They exterminate everything what is on the horizon before I could even notice them. And they just get worse on later levels. (Area effects.)I had enough of followers running in rags with iron dagger in hand ( also I set them to lvl 1 by console, and I asked them, just use the dagger and nothing else) and still jumping front of me and massacre all the dungeon before I could even say stop, kill some dragons, put Alduin in his grave and then turning around and saying: - Lead the way. I`ll follow. Ehh... However maybe I can help you. Use deadly dragons +monsters. Best mod so far. Why? Because you can carefully tweak enemies you can give them + hp , mana, stamina, armor, resistances %. you said draugr reaper 1500 hp? Deadly monsters---->select undead and give a good +100% hp. It will have 3000 hp.Best thing ever? It won`t affect followers. but my problem is with now, as I said when I got for example lvl 1 bandit for dinner. I tweaked it`s hp armor, damage and resists up.Fine, I need 5 hits to kill it. With followers 2-3. Easy kill still, but better than the one hit-kill before. Yay...this is the solution. What? You say bandit thug lvl 9? What my 2 followers got ripped to pieces?What....it is coming....bow? No too close....swords...hey it is...killed me with one hit. Why? Because I amped up ALL the humanoids in deadly monsters. The weaklings got stronger, the strong ones got invincible. But at least I can see my follower searching her contact lenses in the grass...it is soooo satisfying. Now you...YOU unbeatable one...they taught you a lesson finally.... However my followers still stronger than me and now I am playing on apprentice difficulty in order to weaken them. metaton Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) So.. I need a mod which: Level monsters to my level ALWAYS. If I am level 6, monsters are level 6. If I am level 11 monsters are lvl 11.Then I can put HLE on top, so I will stronger ones sometimes, which would be a real tough fight. And Then I can tweak the mobs with Deadly monsters so they can be exactly like what I like and of course bosses really hard. AND WOULD NOT BE a MASSIVE gap between normal minion level and a BOSS level.Because the boss just would be a little bit above my level whilst the mobs are at my level. At least I would know this is the boss. But now I have lvl 9 thug who is just a minion, and a bandit boss which just lvl 5. Whaaat? Also I have a fort full with bandits which are all physically challenged, and suddenly I got an invincible one, so when I start turn around with blood red eyes, and sneak around corners, whispering to myself, I get a loads of lvl 1 bandits again until the rest of dungeon... So Which MOD is doing TRUE levelling? Or this is normal, intended? Get hundred of lvl 1 bandits and just one proper which is matched to your level? EDIT: Ok, I just made my research, so for everyone who is a bit clueless and has a same problem: This is from the comments section from High level enemies: oLaudix1 kudos22 postsI enocuntered small problem. If i install scaled version of the mod that means itll scale enemies to my level correct? Because after installation i performed cell reset and while im lvl 39 i meet new types of enemies but they are lvl 8 and 14 not 39. I checked it on wolves though but i assume all enemies scale. Im also using Immersive weapons and armor and immersive creatures. Is there any particular order i need to load those in cuz right now High Level Enemies is highest on list. I made batched patch ofc.Now that i look on my list i also have skytest realistic creatures and animals loaded under high level enemies. Ill try it other way around. Now im loading High Level Enemies almost on the bottom of the list and while most of the enemies i meet are my lvl there are still some that are 8, 12 or 14. I have no idea what i am doing wrong :sad:posted @ 22:11, 5 Jan 2014Replyhttp://forums.nexusmods.com/uploads/profile/photo-thumb-4828365.jpgpremiumkarios52518 kudos3196 postsNope you aren't doing anything wrong, as HLE has to work with the vanilla level list rules, even at high levels you will still encounter low level enemies as well as higher level onesreportposted @ 5:04, 6 Jan 2014Replyhttp://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/contents/images/noavatar.gif oLaudix1 kudos22 postsGood to know i spent 2h fixing smth that works xD Thx for reply. Btw do i have to merge leveled lists of High Level Enemies? BOSS is not adding tags on his own so i did it manually just to be sure.reportposted @ 9:47, 6 Jan 2014Replyhttp://forums.nexusmods.com/uploads/profile/photo-thumb-4828365.jpgpremiumkarios52518 kudos3196 postsIf you use wrye bash and create a bashed patch to merge level lists (does a better job of merging level lists than tes5edit) you can see that all high level enemies esp's get integrated into the patch Soo....this means, the HLE scaled version then scale what? I cannot understand. They says all of these low level spawns are intended to happen, but then again, what is changed or why scaled and unscaled version of the mod is different when they seem doing the same: Add high level enemies, and leave vanilla lists alone. Anybody has any idea? The mod Author has been retired, so he won`t answer. Edited June 29, 2014 by metaton
