ENightmare45 Posted February 27, 2010 Share Posted February 27, 2010 I am currently just playing about with the toolset and thought I would post a few screenshots of what I have been working on. Remember that I have only spent an hour or two on this so don't expect much! hahaha I am just trying to get a feel for what I am actually after.. I am thinking of adding ships to a few/most of the port areas.. but I would like for each ship to be different so I will have to have a look around and see if I can find models I can import to use.. might have to check the modders resource area :) What I THINK I MIGHT end up doing with this is simply creating a nice main area and then releasing the mod as a resource so that anyone can use it.. I was thinking if each person was to add their own touch to it.. like.. I have added lots of houses but you cant enter any of them so there is plenty to choose from for others to use this to their own liking.. like I said I haven't finished yet!!!! There is still a lot I want to do to it before I am ready to release it in any shape or form.. if there is any interest then let me know :) One thing I am looking for is a way that all the houses windows light up so can be seen from a distance.. I am sure there is a mod that does that but I can't remember which.. can someone point me in the right direction please? Also if you look at the screenshots there is an issue with the center area where one of the dragon statues are situated.. that is because the original center bit (The part From ImpWaterfront) continues onwards onto a bridge and doesn't have a round alcove type bit like the other angles.. I tried copying the same part, paste in place, rotate 90 degrees BUT when I tested it and walked around there was major texture glitches and it looked rubbish! So has anyone made an alcove/could someone make an alcove so I could put it there to clean that area up. ENightmare45 Posted March 3, 2010 Author Share Posted March 3, 2010 I added a whole bunch of trees to it but they looked strange.. depending on what angle you looked at the trees there were no leaves on them *unsure* very odd... I also added several guards around the place but my knowledge of the script is basic at best.. How do I add greetings to the newly created NPCs I have made? I walk past them and they say hello or "move along citizen" but when I talk to them I cant say anything to them.. its just the close convo or open that wheel thing for joking/admire/boast etc.. also when I killed one of the guards another guard came running up to me but I couldnt say anything to them.. and they didnt say "halt you need to pay a fine" or anything like that.. i close the convo and they just stand there.. so they dont attack.. how do I add movements etc? Also.. How would I script NPCs to patrol an area? For example.. I want 2 guards to walk around the outside pathway continuously... I would like to later in the stage of building the mod have 2 other guards come out to relieve the guards walking around and the relieved guards go back to the barracks to sleep... but that can be sorted out later. One other thing... any ideas how you add a torch to a character? I looked through the items list but couldn't find one anywhere!! alonsomartinez Posted March 4, 2010 Share Posted March 4, 2010 I think you cant change the greetiongs to guards because they use their greetings to start the Halt You violated a crime . I changed the greeting on a IC Arcane guard and when I would commit a crime I would talk to him but there was no text. ANd I would keep talking to him it was doinmg it by itself As for patrolling area you have to do that through AI. When one guard is done patrolling the area lets say 12 o clock give him another package which haves him go to sleep in the barracks and create another guard who guards that same area but at 12 o clock when the other guy goes off to sleep And last the torch Is in Misc Items and all you do is add it to their inventory and they will use it Also did you get someone to make you the platform ? ENightmare45 Posted March 4, 2010 Author Share Posted March 4, 2010 No what I meant is they DON'T say "Halt" they just run up to me to engage dialog but then stand there... then when I break off the conversation they try to speak to me again.. again no options to say anything.. If I attack them then they don't fight back.. I really need to have a good long look at the AI options and work out whats what in there.. So how would I go about giving them those packages for sleeping etc? I looked in Misc items and can't find it anywhere... how very odd... Pronam Posted March 6, 2010 Share Posted March 6, 2010 To elaborate the problem. Ever saw a Orc-Captain? The thing is that Bethesda's Imperial Guards are... imperials. So are their dialogues orientated on. If you want spoken dialogue you'd either have to place random vanilla guards, change their ID, Armor, Packages whatever you like but the race.
