RaynorX
For some reason the Broken Steel DVD isn't working even when it has worked fine before. I opened the DVD and ran the 1.6 English US patch first like the instruction pamphlet says to do. It appears to do so without any problems. Then I run the 'Fallout - Broken Steel Point Lookout EN' file. It opens the install shield thing and goes through the installation process until the end where I click Finish. That should be fine except that when I run Fallout 3 and come across any of the new content (my first glimpse is the house near Megaton where the "holy water" comes from after the completion of the purifier quests. There's nothing in the house except for a bunch of big red <!>s . The Broken Steel and Point Lookout esm's are in the Data Files so the game can "see" what's supposed to be there but when I ran a search for Broken Steel on my computer I didn't find anything. I have folders for The Pitt and Operation Anchorage (another PC DVD that is working like it should be) in the C drive but none for the other two. Anyone have an idea of what I should do? Fonger
OS: Windows VistaFallout 3 Location: C -> Program Files (x86) -> Bethesda -> Fallout 3You just diagnosed your problem items in the program files directory are protected against you by Vista You need to either a ) disable UAC b ) figure out how to tell Vista you are the admin after Vista agrees that you are the admin and while Vista believes you are the admin. (ues, it takes more than once to get this to work) or c ) uninstall completely and re-install to someplace that isn't under your Program Files directory.
