Khajiit cross-patched texture bug

Hi,

 

I've got a textures problem that's annoying the hell out of me. I'm running Roberts Male Body Replacer v4 mod alongside Exenem's Female Eye Candy mod. Everything works fine except for the female khajiits, who all have a nasty mismatched cross-patched texture to them. I've read on the net that this is something to do with the fact that Robert's uses an esp while Exnem is just a copy and drop into the data file type mod. But no fix is suggested.

 

Obviously the game is trying to cross-match khajiit textures, but nothing I've done has fixed the bug.

 

I'm using the Oblivion Mod Manager process the textures. I've got a bashed patch in the load order. I've deactivated Roberts and I've tried moving the various dds files out of the khajiit folders. Nothing fixes the problem, although removing the standard dds files and leaving the Roberts RTfootmale.dds and the RTfootmale_n.dds files changed the way the mix-up looked.

 

I am running lots of other mods, but none directly effect the female khajiit textures.

 

Has anyone got any advice please?

The problem lies here: By default, all Khajiit male and female share same male foot texture. And most of major body replacer use foot texture to wrap whole body. Exnem's EyeCandy and HGEC does not have plugin; they simply replace body meshes and textures. So, for Khajiit, you will see messed-up male body texture. Some body replacers like Robert's, use plugin to re-assign body texture, try to avoid this problem.

Thanks very much for the info LFact. But deactivating Robert's doesn't fix, or even change, my female khajiit texture mix-up. Any idea what else I need to do?

 

Reinstall ExnemEC and Robert's, and use Robert's male body plugin(Do not use RM-BP compatibility plugin even if you're using Beautiful People!!). If you're using some cosmetic mod, making a merged patch with Wrye Bash is recommended.

Thanks LFact, but I've already tried that to no effect. The problem doesn't seem to be the .dds files themselves, but the fact that the game isn't loading the Exnem texture, but the Robert's one. I'd try editing the Robert's esp in the TES construction set, but I'm a bit uncertain how to go about it.

Ah Haa! I found the answer. Exnems, when installed as an OMOD DOES have an esp. And I found a useful guide how to edit esp files in the Robert's v4 README.

 

I just loaded the ExnemEyeCandy.esp into the construction set and pointed the female khajiit foot at the correct Exnem file (footfemale.dds). and saved.

 

PING! The textures on female khajiits are now working perfectly.
