And my problems are:

 

1. Silent NPCs in cities.

 

I've discovered an annoying bug in my Oblivion.

 

In clean version of Oblivion (without mods) when I'm walking near NPCs in cities, they are sometimes talking to each other.

 

But when I have activated all my mods (load order posted on top of this topic) people stopped talking to each other. Cities are silent...

Only when I am very close to NPCs they are starting to talk.

 

Which of my mods could cause that problem? Maybe 'Personality Idles v4'? Or maybe something else?

 

I know that this is minor bug but I'm just curious what could cause it.

 

Compability questions

 

a) I want to download some new mods that will change weather effects.

Actually I'm using 'Atmospheric Weather System' but I'm curious if this mod will be compatible with mod 'Weather - All Natural'. I'm also using 'Natural Environments' atm.

Are these mods compatible with each other? Which one of these will enhance my game mostly in your opinion?

 

b) I was thinking about downloading 'Common Oblivion (COBL)'. It's awesome mod but I'm not sure about one thing - COBL will be compatible with mods like 'Beautiful People' or 'Xenius Race Compilation' (which I want to download soon) and FCOM?

Where should I put COBL in my load order list to make it working properly with mods listed above?

 

 

I know many of these questions are really noobish but I need help. I want to apply major enhancements into my Oblivion and I'll really appreciate ANY helpful information :)

 

Sorry for this wall of text, but I've wanted to describe my problems as good as possible :P

I can answer your first question but not the others.

 

cssBase.esm (Companion Sound Sets)

 

Thats the cause of your sound problem, i had this as well and although the lack of sound with the NPC's didn't bother me, it was the fact that my characters battle sounds were completly gone that made me remove this mod from my list, a shame as the sound sets are really very good.

The silent NPC's problem is the Cheydinhal Petshop. It accidentally edits the multiplier that enables NPC's speech at the correct time, so they never seem to speak at all.

 

There's a fix for it if you have the CS and doesn't require any particular knowledge of the Editor to use.

As far as the weather mods you shouldn't be using more than one at the same time. Natural Environments works fine for me, but you just need to check out the Readme's to see if the others suit you.

 

COBL is compatible with pretty much everything including FCOM. I don't use the Race Balancing part of it since I have my own custom races that aren't included in COBL.

 

Get BOSS (Better Oblivion Sorting Software) to sort your mods for you and Wrye Bash which is an essential if using FCOM, COBL and any other mod that alters leveled lists and loot tables, adds NPC's and items etc.
