GOTY Edition questions

Just got the Game of the Year edition of F3, after having played through the original game twice. I'm looking forward to using the DCL material like "The Pitt" and so on.

 

I have two questions, though, for those who have played these:

 

1. Are there any particular items I should be saving in the basic game that I'll need to complete quests in the DLC material? I'm referring to things like saving cameras to help fix Liberty Prime in Broken Steel. Are there other other items I should be snapping up that I ordinarily wouldn't, like teddy bears or something?

 

2. What's the best order in which to play the DLC expansions, and when? Your opinions most welcome.

Sensor Modules along with Camera's are for BS yes, and no others that I know of :/

 

Other than that, as far as preparing goes you won't be able to use your gear in Anchorage and in the Pitt and you'll have to run through MS without being able to make a quick trip home to switch gears or retreive ammunition, and I found myself running out of ammo and condition relatively fast until I opted for using the alien weapons against them. They're all independent of each other as far as gameplay goes, but some might be better at lower or higher levels. Wouldn't know which one to play at what level for maximum enjoyment though, sorry :$

One more question: can you bring followers along to any of the DLC places? Well, I know you can with Broken Steel, but what about the other four? And as for followers, how about fan-made ones, ones that the game does not recognize as "official" followers? Can Lucy West go somewhere that Charon and Fawkes can't ?

Thinking of using Lucy as I was interested in the mod before but turns out it's integrated in FOOK, just crossing my fingers now in that she's not bugged to hell as I'm also using project beauty.

 

Now that I think of it, MZ probably won't let you due to your entry and the way you interact with the NPC's on there, and the Pitt will probably block them as well. I can't imagine OA allowing you, but I think PL will allow you.

 

I'm not certain on it though, so you'll just have to find out. Expect the worst :P

^^ think uncle is right about companions.

 

OA is a great DLC to do early because your equipment doesnt matter and it actually gives amazing equipment at the end, anyway, plus a semi-useful perk if you earn it. Very close to megaton too. You'll get great weapons AND great armor.

 

I tend to put off the Pitt just because it's so far removed from everything else, most of my questing takes me to the south east. But once you're capable of surviving the trip, might as well I suppose :P. It's a bit long but the auto axe and perforator are fantastic weapons, auto axe is the best melee hands down.

 

Personally I think you should put off PL until mid game because there are a couple of tough fights. It's very freeform though so it doesn't matter much either way. However, I find that the 300 (more like 500-600 with early game barter skill...) cap cost for the ticket could be better spent on other things in the early game.
